Koeman sacked

Post by Wilson » Mon Oct 23, 2017 1:35 pm

From a few decent sources on Twitter.

I fear this is the end.

Just on TV news. His contract has been terminated. Still think SD won't go near it.

If the chairmen of both Leicester and Everton have the final say, then we are perfectly safe I think.

Bit weird them sacking Koeman to be honest, his record in this division is excellent.

EDIT - sorry, not chairmen, the "majority shareholders"

If Everton want Sean and he wants them, then there will be little we can do other than offer him the same wages and prey.

If he does go there - would you have Koeman? I'd seriously consider it.

I am very worried by this one.

Everton and Dyche seem to fit. I think if Kenwright makes the decision then we will be looking for a new manager.

Think the board at Everton would see Dyche as too much of a gamble to come and dig them out of a relegation battle.

There's always a chance that Dyche would go at some stage.
Whether it's to Everton or Leicester is another question.

Personally I think he will wait until at least the end of the season
which might be in his best interests but one never knows.

The worry is that if he went now then he might want to take
a few of the current team with him - probably Mee or Tarkowski.

And that would leave us in a very difficult scenario having to find a new manager
and possibly players too.

Let's hope not.

Depends who makes the decisions at Goodison these days. If it's Bill Kenwright then I can see Dyche being firmly in the frame. If it's Farhad Moshiri I would expect a foreign coach.

He's been a shambles this season. Throwing far too many young players in. Playing players out of position (gylfi) Getting near on £90m for your main man and not replacing him.

I have sympathy for managers like Bilic who are let down by their players but takes the blame. But not Koeman blames everybody bar himself.

If Everton want Dyche I think he will go. Bigger club, better players (although not playing like it), new stadium on the horizon.

This seems like a perfect step up for him. If I was a manager in Dyche's position I would be wanting them to come in for me

Regardless of if they fit or not etc I suspect Dyche has more about him then to walk out on a job during the season.

Didn't Boden state there was a gentleman's agreement not to poach another PL clubs manager after the Owen Coyle fiasco?
That's probably still in place because it doesn't seem to happen nowadays.

I'd like to think Dyche is a man of honour and will stay until the end of the season at least.
He'd get more kudos keeping us up again and improving our league position then he would jumping ship.

Plus we all know he likes a summer to get his ideas across and fitness levels improved.

I think he'd make it work at Everton if he went though.

Moshiri owns 49.9% of the club, with 17,465 shares.

Kenwright has 4,256 shares.

Moshiri calls the shots.

Unsworth 3/1
Moyes 4/1
Dyche 8/1
Allardyce 10/1
Coleman and Ancellotti 12/1...from oddschecker.

Leicester - not very worried

Everton - quite worried

West Ham [if they join the game] - very worried..

The natives are calling for David Unsworth, who whilst being a bit of an Everton Cult Hero, also won the league with their U23's last year.

He's the option that will get 99% of fans back on side. Between Him, Moyes and Dyche (As the bookies suggest).

Not that I expect him to go but in your scenario first he'd have to wait for a transfer window and then they are contracted so we would have to accept an offer. It's not happening.

Yes in my opinion they do. I believe they’ll be looking for. Moyes type character. Someone who can deal with the club top to bottom, in exactly the way Dyche has done here. You may now point out that they could just appoint Moyes, but I believe his time has gone and Dyche has moved with the times.

I do also mention that this is if Kenwright makes the decision.
