Utter, utter buffoon.
Why he is continually given a platform to air his inane drivel, will remain a mystery to me forever.
A bit like eubank snr. Spends too much time trying to sound educated and thoughtful to be of any real use.

Er, yes it is and no it isn't...but hey ho, if you hadn't said it somebody else would have.
The bloke's useless, his skin colour is irrelevant.

He won't be sacked. And if he is, it'll create a new thread...

I would add Ray Wilkins to that list.bobinho wrote:Utter, utter buffoon.

Jamie Redkapp talks absolute {randomletters} every time he's on TV, so I think it's bit harsh to target Ray Wilkins.Duffer_ wrote:I would add Ray Wilkins to that list
Re: Garth Crooks
Plenty talk sh1t3 but Wilkins definitely deserves his place on a list of purveyors of "inane drivel...[spending] too much time trying to sound educated and thoughtful..."

I guess it's down to opinions, I think WIlkins actually talks sense. Jamie Redknapp copies what has already been said OR the obvious. The BBC think that because he talks proper he is clever, sadly he ain't. Personally I couldn't give a toss about his opinion on Burnley or anything else.

He just comes across as a bit odd does Garth.
Re: Garth Crooks
On sat he said we’re lucky to have Dyche as manager and Leicester would be ideal for him, didn’t think he’d be at Burnley for much longer, before Danny mills butted in and totally disagreed. The guy is irritating in the extreme.

Probably just me, but he reminds me of those chubby hedgehogs with the big bellies that you can buy as garden ornaments in garden centres and the like. Maybe he should go to sleep for four months of the year and keep his mush and gobshite opinion off the telly! Pricklist certainly!

Re: Garth Crooks
He's total baffoon, but then, a BBC pundit, he's in good company. He has zero interest/ knowledge of Burnley and that suits me just fine.
Can you image him a a Manager ? scary thought.

Re: Garth Crooks
This is possibly my favourite Garth Crooks anecdote
I was speaking to my uncle Ben on Saturday and said that Aaron Ramsey was almost certain to be the unanimous choice for footballer of the year. He took the glass of champagne out of my hand and said: 'You mean Wayne Rooney, don't you?' I told him that he had made a very good point and promptly went home.

Re: Garth Crooks
He's also come out with things such as:
"Brazil are playing a 4-2-1-3-1"
"I don’t know what an impact player does"

Obviously the type who has no real appreciation of the traditions of the game.
Re: Garth Crooks
I had the misfortune of listening to Butch on Talksport's Arsenal Spurs game today on the way over. He is so verbose. Everything is prefixed with "I have to say". The unnecessary word count was off the charts and his pronunciation of Llorente alone is enough to confirm his Crooks like status.FactualFrank wrote:I guess it's down to opinions, I think WIlkins actually talks sense. By contrast Joey, who did the Man U Newcastle game, was choc full of insight and opinion. Sure he misuses the odd word (eg pedantic instead of pedestrian) but he at least has something other than the blatantly obvious to say.
