Leicester tickets sold out
Leicester tickets sold out
How many tickets did we get for this? It only came onto sale for season ticket holders without points this morning and it is already sold out.
Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Where have you read that they are sold out?
Cant see anything on the club site that says this?

Just tried to buy some, they're all gone according to the ticket office.
Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Think the club only took the minimum allocation
Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Don't know if they did or not but if they did it's understandable that they wouldn't take 3000 seeing as we only could sell just over 2000 for Everton.S27bfc wrote:Think the club only took the minimum allocation

Everton was live on tv thats why we didnt sell 3000 for that game.Leisure wrote:

With the team doing so well I would have thought we would have sold 3000 for Leicester with no probs?

Live on tv....on a Sunday. I went but seriously considered not going. How is that understandable?

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Liverpool was live on TV last season but we took almost 3,000 - Everton was a disappointing figure this year. Last year we took only 2,000 to Leicester so were probably left with a big bill. All that makes taking the smaller allocation, if indeed we have, understandable.

I might add also that comparisons to last year are not fully relevant, we had 4 away points going into the 18th away game last season whereas this season going into the 7th away game we have 11 points from 6 away games. Therefore you would assume a larger following is likely.
If the allocations are 2000 or 3000 then maybe that's OK but if it was say 1500 or 3000 and you could estimate wed take 2300 or so I think the club can pocket the hit at this moment in time and accommodate all travelling fans.
IMO...... but I'm right

They might not be relevant, comparing last season with this but two Sunday games on Merseyside on TV yet last year's saw us sell out while this year's probably landed the club with a big bill.BleedingClaret wrote:If the smaller allocation is 2000 or over it does

I'd think at Leicester it was likely to be 1,500 or 3,000. How many times do you want the club pocket to be hit?

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
I get your point but like I said I wouldn't want the club to pay for 1000+ unsold tickets but if we had 2500 wanting to travel, I wouldn't want an allocation of 1500 with 1000 disappointed, if it was you, say you were an 18 year old with 1500 loyalty points etc you wouldn't be happy. Well not with missing the game anyhow. We could all chip in an extra 6 quid to pay for the unsold 500 if the club are struggling.ClaretTony wrote:They might not be relevant, comparing last season with this but two Sunday games on Merseyside on TV yet last year's saw us sell out while this year's probably landed the club with a big bill.

Mind you we put into their buckets years ago so reciprocal gestures would be nice.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
It's 3 weeks to the game so if we've sold the initial lower allocation, there'd be a lot not even thought about it yet, it's not like it's Thursday night before the game and a few stragglers have lost out through laziness.
I hadn't even thought of getting mine, its 4 games away, luckily I was prompted by another Claret, much much older and a bit, just a tad, wiser than me
When we've beaten Swansea, Arsenal 4.0 and Bournemouth we'll be second........,take the further allocation Burnley FC.
P.S. What's the away allocation at The Bernabeu?

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
I think there were a number of reasons Everton didn't sell out (2,249 was a reasonable figure), and some of those were down to BFC:
* The club's stance this past two years not telling fans how many we have received/taken.
* The cub's stance this past two years not giving updates on sale numbers.
* The fact it was a Sunday game on TV.
* General sale being so close to the match, so people already deciding they're not going because of TV, and not knowing if they'd sold out.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Is there a way the club could pre-sell or do a waiting list with refunds only if they don’t take that part of the allocation.
With the caveat that they may be oversubscribed and refund some applications? Ie if they pre-sell 2051 and they’re taken in batches of 1000 there are 51 refunds.
That way they could start applications a couple of weeks earlier.
Just a thought like......

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Don't know where to start with this. So just because we couldn't sell out for a televised game at Everton the other week they have refused to take 3000 tickets for a Saturday afternoon game at Leicester, when we are absolutely flying and sandwiched between trips to Bournemouth and Brighton. Add in the fact that they refuse to give out away allocations still and we've sold our allocation 3 weeks before the game make it another almighty ****-up by the club. We're 7th in the Premier league and turning over millions of pounds a year yet at times we're still run like a ******* Sunday league outfit.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth holds 11360 in total so they have to give minimum of 10% ie 1136. Obviously the actual number will depend on the entrances/how things can be partitioned etc and, due to this, I think away fans get a bit more than that minimum - around 1300 Ive seen quoted.
It'll be difficult for us to fill that on a Wednesday evening all the way down there I think. (Nice easy trip for me though).

The other year, old ticket office, I witnessed a member of the ticket office, vehemently, arguing that Sheffield Wednesday should get the whole Cricketfield stand, the argument was based around, some attendances figures in Hoos era, and that they had received 12, that's 12, phone calls from Wednesday fans trying to secure some more tickets.

200 unsold tickets at 30 quid a pop is 6 grand. Pretty confident we'd have sold 3000 for Leicester anyway.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Tbf Leicester was one of the first away games last season so we didn't know quite how crap we were gonna be away from home at that time. I agree though, madness not taking the full allocation this season with how well we're doing. Can the club apply for extra?BleedingClaret wrote:I might add also that comparisons to last year are not fully relevant, we had 4 away points going into the 18th away game last season whereas this season going into the 7th away game we have 11 points from 6 away games. If the club keep making a loss on away ticket sales you would expect the person making the decisions to lose their job.
It has to be run like a business.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
I had to wait as well untill today as my 6yr old got no where near enough points to get a away ticket & now we can't go.. gutted he will be, when is this flawed points system with kids going to be addreseed? He is going to have to wait 15 years to get anywhere near enough the 5000 points to get away tickets, which to me is just wrong wrong wrong. The kids are the future generation of clarets & should be encouraged to attend as many games as possible & not miss because of the current system in place.. utc!

As i live local to Leicester this is a disappointment with my dad having arranged to come down for the weekend. He’s usually first down to the ticket office, even he wasn’t fast enough today.
I hope the club are looking to ask for an extra allocation.

A load of us had planned on making a day of it so that's our plan completely ballsed up. Nice one Burnley so instead of 3000 Clarets cheering the lads on there'll be about 1500 squirrelled away in the corner.
Re: Leicester tickets sold out
I think it is fair to say they wildly underestimated the popularity of this one, 4 weeks before the match and sold out before hitting season ticket holders. Probably quite a few with points probably also missed out thinking that they could buy them later down the line to sit with friends but the weird secrecy about allocations and ticket sales puts paid to that.
It's obviously a balancing act and the question is whether the club wants to take the hit to ensure everyone who wants to go or whether some fans need to accept they'll miss out so the club doesn't have to take a financial hit.
It does look like there won't be anymore available for this according to the ticket office.

I'm another who has snoozed and seemingly left it too late. Fingers crossed they ask and release more next week.
I didn't think Leicester cut the away section into a smaller area and allowed home fans in so hopefully it is just a case of the club asking for more tickets.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
This is very amateurish thinking of the club, we are riding high with two long trips sandwiched either side in Bournemouth / Brighton playing our better football on the road.
Leicester one of our closest trips in comparison, we would have took that amount of allocation if we where 7th in the championship probably more.
I just can not see why we only took so little, first Christmas shopping weekend in December maybe but come on.
This was a big miss here we need to go into these matches with as much backing as posible and the club as certainly missed a trick here cause it will be the Leicesters of this world that we will be jostling with come the end of the season for position in the league
not your day out clubs like your Arsenals, United's City's its defiantly a big mistake not to have gone for the full allocation here
When 3,000 Burnley fans get on there soap box and in full swing their like a twelfth man to the team and could just help set us up in good stead going into a tricky December
Just cant weigh this thinking up at all UTC
