My last post was actually meant to be sarcastic. And I don't like being called a proper t**t on a public forum, thank you. I just get angry now and again that's all

I just think its ace that this is about the only thing as Burnley fans we can moan about at the moment!

Re: JM Lower when the pen went in.
To be fair to the bloke, he's not complaining about the normal early leavers, people have valid reasons for that.
He's complaining about the fans who's left as a reaction to getting conceding, concerned that they can turn their backs on the team as soon as things go tits up.
The same fans leaving early as a response to the conceded goal will be the first fans to start booing and whinging if we were to start slipping back down the table...

You pay your money for your seat and arrive / leave when you wish. To be asked to stay and applaud is one thing but to be slandered by some half wit is another thing, if he kept his big gob shut then some people may just think he looks a bit of a knob but to open his gob just confirmed it to all.

I remember Our fans leaving by the dozen after just a few minutes against Man City in 2010 We were 3-0 down mind. Hundreds more walked at half time.
Were they proper fans I ask ?

People were leaving before the penalty...in a game so finely balanced with a top 4 place at stake I don't get it either....Andy@Colne wrote:I will now sit in total silence like the vast majority in the JM Lower. Re: JM Lower when the pen went in.
I must say I NEVER leave early. I don't get to many games as I have to travel a couple of hundred miles. One of the reasons I never leave early is because it's a massive treat for me when I get to Turf Moor and I don't want to miss a minute of it. Also football tickets are expensive and I'm too tight to pay for the ticket and then possibly miss a goal!
I must say I was seething about that Saturday. It was a soft penalty. But I remember the last time Arsenal were at Burnley and elbowed their late goal into the back if the net. However onwards and upwards. Great performance from our Team and we move on!

They were more than likely the fans that didn't retain their season tickets for the following season in the championship.Grimsby Claret wrote:I remember Our fans leaving by the dozen after just a few minutes against Man City in 2010 We were 3-0 down mind. Hundreds more walked at half time.

Re: JM Lower when the pen went in.
As a traveller I understand the benefit of leaving 2-3 mins early, it does make a big difference on your journey time home, but surely there are exceptions.
Against Swansea we were cementing 7th place, and a 7pt gap. Wild horses couldn't have prevented me from cheering the players off the pitch. Yet a hell of a lot of people were leaving with 5 mins to go.
Considering what was at stake on Sunday it was even more bizarre.
I'm not saying people should always stay until the final whistle, but some moments require the players and SD to know just how we feel about them.

Each to his own but I've never left a game early .If it takes me longer than our usual 4-5 hrs to get back to Berkshire so be it.
Re: JM Lower when the pen went in.
In other related news, Ian Holloway has had to apologise for slating early leaving fans last night. QPR scored in the 93rd and 94th minutes to draw 2-2.

Re: JM Lower when the pen went in.
Imagine leaving the darts snooker or tennis towards the end of the game and it's all square?
Re: JM Lower when the pen went in.
Imagine a world where you can't arrive or leave a public place at a time of your own choice for an event you have paid for without getting criticised by other people !
Personally I want to stay to the end of all matches if I can - but it's perfectly fine for someone else to leave for whatever reason they choose to....it's got f'hole to do with me what that reason is.

Aye ....imagine watching a game on TV on the edge of your seat next goal wins "and now to the newsroom for a news flash " it's only a game after all.1..0

I actually sat in the JML for that game, it was absolutely throwing it down and I got drenched but I stayed til the end.Grimsby Claret wrote:I remember Our fans leaving by the dozen after just a few minutes against Man City in 2010 We were 3-0 down mind. Hundreds more walked at half time.

Bloody part timers.houseboy wrote:Glad you said that, for a number of different reasons I get to very few games but I'm still a Claret fanatic through and through. I paid my dues years ago when I was a season ticket holder for years and missed one (that's 1) home game in ten years (and that was a friendly) as well as spending Saturdays and quite a few midweeks travelling miles to watch us. I even organised my first wedding on a day that Burnley were away (how's that).

Re: JM Lower when the pen went in.
Nobody seems to have considered that the people leaving after the penalty may have stayed longer than they normally do because it was still all to play for. The penalty was scored that late they then dashed off (later than they intended to) knowing the game was finally up (as we all knew).
Also plausible that they have anger management issues similar to the OP and decided to sensibly remove themselves from a very frustrating environment rather than exposing well meaning supporters to the outpouring of their rage.
