About 4 years ago this would have been a dream draw. Shows how far we’ve come.

No need to worry about it, get straight on with our survival in the league.
Let's have a go at this
Only problem is with no European games till February (i think)they will play a strong side but I'd have thought PL and Europe will be their focus overall

Who have the mighty Imps got?
Re: FA Cup Draw
What a poor draw. All the big clubs basically got byes.
I wasn't fussy who we got, i just wanted a ground tick.
We will get plenty of weekends off at least, players should be in ship shape for a European place push now.

Anything can happen of course. Let's hope it does.evensteadiereddie wrote:I fancy our chances.
A team that has lost since Sean arrived in the cups to;
Sheffield Wednesday (H), Port Vale (A), Lincoln (H), Accrington (A), Leeds (H) and whose best win in that time is a home win against Papy Djilobodji and the other comedy defenders of Sunderland doesn't suggest it's likely.

Re: FA Cup Draw
Top draw that one...if they go 'weak' and we go first XI ( why not?) we can give them a game..
Surely we get about 8000 tickets - a proper good day out that one..
Bring it on City !

I'm sure cracking on to 40 points will be SD's priority.

Yes - just a £350m team.thatdberight wrote:Sean's dream draw. We get knocked out as planned and he can't even get criticised even though it's City's second XI.
Re: FA Cup Draw
City will offer us 8 or 9 thousand the entire upper tier of the away end. If it stays at Saturday 3 o clock and tickets are reasonably priced let's take a bumper following and give it everything. After missing out on tickets for both United and Huddersfield I'll certainly be there. City may make lots of changes after the hectic festive period.

Why can’t we beat them? I’m sure the lads will be well up for it. I bet there are some city fans thinking it could have been a lot more favourable a draw for them.

Will be going for the second time this season. I have a handful of non claret mates from work who would also be up for it. Hope the pricing is reasonable.

We will have a 'Chelsea away' ( League Cup) type following and a great day out..City won't fancy this banana skin and will be wondering what sort of team to send out for us...I can't believe why people are not more excited about it to be honest....our biggest away day since Wembley... ( Shef. United) surely?

Re: FA Cup Draw
Tickets at city for wolves in the league cup were a tenner so that's a good sign. Still not dried out from the last visit there though
Re: FA Cup Draw
City usually offer cheap tickets for this sort of tie. Had to miss the league game so looking forward to it!

yeah, anyone in the Championship away
Re: FA Cup Draw
Good draw. Ends Citys chances of league and cup double. Pity it wasn't a home tie but then again we don't really want to give 'em a rehearsal of the pasting they're going to get on 'turf.
If we lose - unlikely - but no shame.

Re: FA Cup Draw
I'm hoping it won't get moved for T.V. Saturday 3pm and let's take a bumper away following.
Re: FA Cup Draw
You will get about 8k tickets which will be the entire top tier of the south stand and half the middle tier
I expect City will price these at about £15... £20 tops
Can't see this being chosen for TV seeing as there's 4 or 5 lower league v PL ties + the scouse derby and obviously Trafford will be on as well.... so I'm going for a Saturday 3pm kick off
City potentially have a Carabou Cup semi first leg a few days later and then go to Anfield on the Sunday, so there's bound to be some changes
Would have preferred an easy league 2 team at home rather than a top half PL team who have a great away record

Re: FA Cup Draw
United at home as well so our game or the United game will get moved from a Saturday kick off.
Also just saw an unusual stat that Liverpool have never beaten Everton at Anfield in an FA Cup tie. In fact the last time Everton lost at Anfield in a cup game was in 1892 against Burnley.

If we play our 1st team we might have an outside chance. If its our reserves vs their reserves we might just gat hammered.

I paid £5 / £10 / £10 for my lads 3 CL group game tickets and £5 for his ticket v Wolves in the league cup... which gives you a bit of a guide on what to expect
Cheers

Re: FA Cup Draw
A Lincoln City or a team of a similar ilk would have a siege mentality and attempt to kick lumps out of us. We'll probably go out at Man City but this does have the potential to be a major scalp, with a Chelsea style atmos thrown in.

Re: FA Cup Draw
I’d prefer this tie now, early in the competition, rather than later; more chance of catching them with a cold. Take this seriously, play well, and, if we get a result, the hardest job is done at the first time of asking.
