Chris Boden suggesting torn patellar tendon.

If serious rupture i suppose he could be out for up to a year.

Remember Forster against us.

[quote="taio"]Chris Boden suggesting torn patellar tendon.

from internet search:
'...there is a minimum of 3 months until return of normal daily activities, and 4-6 months until sports should be resumed. While most people heal completely from a patellar tendon surgery, there can be long-term weakness even with a successful repair...'

If it turns out to be correct then hopefully it won't be the most serious type of rupture.

Forster had a 10 month layoff and he's obviously a keeper.

Real shame but without being a medic sounds less serious than any of the other injuries.

Hopefully he is back for pre season.

A replacement is needed but best wishes to Brady!

We seem to get at least one really long term injury each year.....

With it usually being a first teamer on peak form, and it usually ends up showing in our results/form.
Get well soon Robbie, and enjoy your Christmas.

Leicester games haven't gone too well for us in recent times have they, costly defeats and long term injuries. All coincidences, not suggesting otherwise, just some bad luck.

sorry to hear he is out for the year but we wont miss him. whoever comes into the team will fit into the framework with ease. its a massive chance for someone to step up. all this about buying a new player is nonsense.

Yes we will. All you need to look at is chances created on the squad. He is miles ahead of the others.

We also went through a phase where people blamed the manager, can't remember if that was Howe or Dyche though.

That's a big blow for us. I'm glad we have a decent number of points on the board already. I guess Defour will take over set pieces and Arfield will replace him out wide. We need a proper replacement in January though, someone ready to hit the ground running and help us achieve an unlikely top 10 finish.

If you take this board as the barometer, in about three weeks we have gone from Brady needing to be dropped to his injury being a season defining loss.

It was probably the same calibre of poster who wanted him to be dropped.

The vast majority could see what he brought to the team.

I suppose the only positive we can take from this huge blow is that it has happened just before the transfer window opens and not just as it shuts as has been the case in the past.

He'll be missed. Of course it's a great opportunity for someone else to ' deliver '. But when Robbie isn't doing all he can in the offensive third, he always puts a shift in, in defence. When he is on song (and he has been recently) he's a match winner.
Get well soon Robbie.

It’s a shame he’s got injured just as he was starting to play consistently well. I think he’ll be missed because he’s capable of delivering some amazing set pieces, passes and touches which can set up great chances. For months before however, I found him frustrating to watch and honestly wasn’t one of his biggest fans.

I think you’re right, his crossing has been poor of late, and was close to being dropped. I can see Hendrick going out wide and Arfield behind Wood. Then we might see a bit of Wells
The number 10 role is one that needs improving in January. We bought Hendrick as a midfielder but he isn’t good enough to get in the team in centre mid, so made a role for him, but the game passes him by!
Brady is a loss for free kicks, but Defour can sort the other set pieces

I thought we reserved that status for Marney when he gets his customary knee injury after the January transfer window?

He will be a big miss. He was really starting to come into a fine run of form. However, I'm confident that the Team will adapt without him and 'find different ways to win'. We are a Team that is more than the Sum of Its Parts, after all.

Disappointed but he has only shown some consistency of late.
His set pieces are ok but Defour will be just as good
We may play play a second striker more
We may bring a replacement which is exciting

Poor poor Jeff! Think he had a great season last year! First two are 3 games back after injury he did not look fit,but since then he's been great! Been involved in a lot of our goals whether it be the final pass are the two good goals he scored.Find it staggering how people slag him off.Btw we will miss Brady, but there capable of getting points still.

When we sold Charlie Austin, Jay Rod stepped up - then Danny Ings. When Shackell left, Michael Kean stepped up - then Tarka. When Tom Heaton was injured, Nick Pope stepped up.

Fear not, Robbie will be missed but we have good, talented, professional footballers waiting in the wings.

This link states:
The exact timeline for physical therapy and the type of exercises prescribed will be individualized to you. Your rehabilitation plan will be based on the type of tear you have, your surgical repair, your medical condition, and your needs.
Complete recovery takes about 6 months. Many patients have reported that they required 12 months before they reached all their goals.
We can probably add a bit on to the 6 months with him being an elite athlete, but fingers crossed he's back whipping those balls in well within a year.

This site's description of the injury made me feel a bit ill by the way...

Shame given he was coming in to real form and affects so many elements of our play.

Hopefully we can get someone in to fill in until his return next year.

I hope he makes a full recovery and has many more years in a Claret shirt.

First and foremost, its a big blow for the player, coming as it does just as he was beginning to flourish in a Burnley shirt and establish himself as a true Premier League performer. Hopefully, the wonders of modern treatment can have him back with us in time for next pre-season, although that feels a bit on the optimistic side given the stuff cited on this thread.

It also a big blow for the team, although I think we need to keep that in proportion. Its barely a month since many folk were calling for Brady to be dropped, particularly at home. Whilst we've no like for like replacement and he's a clear first choice so we'll inevitably miss him, it is an area in which we have decent enough cover in Arfield, with one or two others capable of playing there. We'll of course miss his set pieces, although as I don't think those set plays have actually yielded a goal yet this season perhaps that miss is being a tad overstated.
