Still obsessed with us at Middlesbrough
Why can't they just discuss/report the fact that Middlesbrough have had a poor 12 months?

The home fans had a little bit of swagger about them as they taunting the Swans: “You’re going down with the Mackems.”

That, and 4 points, and a 5 goal better goal differenceThat is Burnley who Boro had been neck-in-neck with for the best part of two years, who squeezed to the title courtesy of a late leveller at their place.

Okay give them the win at Burnley - that's 2 extra points for them and one less for us. 1+2=3. 3 is less than 4. What IS their point?

If Michael Keane hadn't scored either the goal at Brighton or the one against Middlesbrough, we'd still have been first with Middlesbrough second and Brighton third. They are just ridiculously obsessed with us.houseboy wrote:Okay give them the win at Burnley - that's 2 extra points for them and one less for us. 1+2=3. 3 is less than 4. What IS their point?

Now I'm sure someone on here was absolutely adamant that Negrado was top notch and would score the goals they needed..
Turns out he didn't, something I claimed several times because he wasn't actually that good and for £100k a week I'd be expecting a lot more.
I can claim that one as a win can't I?

There was a tweet just after Dyche's 5 year in charge asking for your favourite Dyche moment.
One of the replies went something along the line of........his psychological destruction of Middlesbrough Football Club.

Re: Still obsessed with us at Middlesbrough
Boro are an odd club for sure. They think they are big and have decent support to back that up (but then again so do many others) but they don't actually have a history of being trophy winners do they? To me they fall in the same category as West 'am except smaller, clubs with good support but nothing to back it up. In fact between them combined they barely better us in trophy count and NEITHER have ever been Champions of England. I GET A BIT SICK OF BEING LOOKED DOWN ON BY FANS OF CLUBS WHOSE HISTORY CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO COMPARE WITH OURS. I suppose it's true what they say, empty vessels make the most noise.

The "look at the m/t seats" genuinely make me LOL on that thread
I mean, either its the worst camera angle in the world or they play at a near m/t stadium every bloody week

No he isn't.KRBFC wrote:He is top notch, the problem for them was they couldn't get the bodies round him.
Last time he scored double figures in the league was before he moved to Man City in 2013.
He's only scored 2 league goals in 14 appearances this season over in Turkey.
He scored 9 league goals for both City and Boro interestingly.
Re: Still obsessed with us at Middlesbrough
I don't give a toss about how many goals he scored, 9 in that awful negative Boro team is top notch. You are obsessed with mentioning Negredo's record at City and discrediting the season he scored 20+ goals for them because they weren't all league goals. His all round play is top notch, wages aside he would be absolutely perfect for us. His first touch and hold up play is very good.Sidney1st wrote:No he isn't.

23 In 33 at City
He was excellent in Spain for Sevilla, you probably didnt watch him then.

Re: Still obsessed with us at Middlesbrough
I know what he scored in the cups for City, but league goals is what was needed at Boro.
I'm well aware his league goal scoring record was excellent before he moved to City.
All I'm saying is for £100k a week, he was over rated toss for Boro and his record after City would suggest he's been over rated toss for a while.
They should've spent the money elsewhere, but Karanka didn't have a clue really.

9 league goals in a relegated club isn't toss at all, how many did Ings get? Gray got 9? How many will Wood get this year? 9 league goals in a struggling side is actually good.Sidney1st wrote:I know what he scored in the cups for City, but league goals is what was needed at Boro.

"... that win took Boro a point above then near rivals Burnley with a big Boxing Day trip to Turf Moor to come."
Near rivals? Seriously? I'd say there are two things wrong that; one, we're not near geographically and two we're not rivals.
Granted there was a small period when I cared about their results a couple of years ago, but that was purely in relation to how they impacted on our chances of promotion. I couldn't have cared less about them last season our this season. They need to move on.

Re: Still obsessed with us at Middlesbrough
Ha ha. Nice one. One thing I did find out was they have one thing in common with us - we have both won the old Anglo-Scottish cup back in the 70's. I remember the battle of Turf Moor when we played Celtic (we did the double over them) and playing Oldham in the final. We scored a shed load of goals in that competition because Scottish football at that time was even poorer than it is now (I seem to recall 8 past East Fife and 5 past Hearts - who were a top side up there then).mickleoverclaret wrote:Did you not see they won the We Signed Britt Assombalonga Trophy in the summer?

£100k p/w is different to each club, City can pay anyone that comfortably, its comparable to us paying someone £15k p/w. Boro spent £5m plus any loan fee to have Negredo for a season, 9 league goals is excellent for a striker in a team like Boro regardless of what they earn. They couldn't even get the ball to him or support him, it was highlighted many times about their lack of support.

Agree completely. And was working up that way today with a boro fan. Didnt know i was a burnley fan at first. And before i told him he was already glowing with praise about burnley, dyche, the team and fans.IanMcL wrote:Article comparing the 2 clubs is accurate and valid. Wouldnt read anything into online comments. This board alone is a perfect example of why.
North east fans are very similar to our proper fans and boro isnt too dissimilar to burnley on and off the pitch.
Sooner have boro up there than brighton or southampton etc

Boro are vastly different but you won't like talking about how much money Gibson has written off.
It's easily over £80 million though and will happen again.

I vaguely recall laughing when they signed Ramirez and writing him off too as toss.
He was on about £60k a week and decided he couldn't be arsed after January when they wouldn't sell him to Leicester which was hilarious.
Negrado has scored about 30 league goals since he joined City.
So in 4 and a bit years he's hardly proven his class

We aren't like any other club in this league and not many like us in the championship.
I think we were one of only a couple of clubs to turn an actual real profit with no debts recently.
