One you seldom hear but always gets the hair on the back of the neck to stand as brings back specific memories is In a Broken Dream, Python Lee Jackson (Rod Stewart Vocals).

Edit. Also
All day and all of the night...Kinks.
Did some reading on Python Lee Jackson a little while ago because despite the classic song I knew very little about them. First off although Rod sang the vocals on that song (and another that never saw the light of day apparently) he was NEVER a member of the band but just happened to be knocking around the studio when it was recorded (they needed a singer due to their own 'disappearing'). He was paid with a couple of car seat covers rumour has it. Secondly they were a little known Australian band who never took off in England and who had numerous members on and off, not one of whom ever became famous in their own right.
Strange old world eh?

Procol Harum-Whiter Shade of Pale. Blew me away when I first heard it in May 1967 and still sounds as fresh today. Quite simply the best record ever made.

It probably is alright when listened to in isolation, I just think it's not a patch on Dylan's version, and I still can't fathom why they omitted most of the lyrics.

True, To me its what Dylans would have sounded like had he recorded/wrote it few years later, Blonde on Blonde era.

Cheered me up that Svenster.

One track that makes me feel melancholic is I Believe by Tears For Fears from the Songs from the Big Chair album. Not too many tracks that have that kind of effect on me.

T.Rex's Jeepster has that blown away quality you asked about though.
