Pope - 8 - can't fault him for either goal, commanded his box well.
Taylor - 7 - had a very difficult game against Young today, thought he was possibly at fault for their first goal
Long - 7 - Cleared the lines brilliantly but still needs game time, often gets out of position
Mee - 8
Bardsley - 8 - Terrific
Arfield - 8
Cork - 8
Defour - 9 - That goal? Wow. *
JBG - 8
Hendrick - 6 - The weakest link imo, gone missing for a few games now (probably due to the brilliance in Cork and Defour behind him)
Barnes - 7 - Great goal but offered little else, silly yellow card.

Vokes - 7 - Did what he could when we were under great pressure

Pope - 8 some good saves, very positive ,commanded his area very well.
Taylor - 7 handled the early booking very well
Long - 8 did very well, couple if good blocks. Thought he'd get exposed v Lukaku and Ibra, but handled them well
Mee - 8 solid, seemed to win everything
Bardsley 7 too slow for me, and looks like a red waiting to happen
Arfield 7 ran his socks off, but his limitations show when on the ball
Cork 7 silly booking
Defour 9 so calm in possession and what a free kick!
JBG - 7 did well, a couple of errors but kept going
Hendrick 6 didn't do much with the ball, seemed to take the wrong option pretty much every time.
Barnes 7 worked very hard, lucky not to be sent off

Vokes 6

Looks like Bardsley had another great game. I like this guy-he seems to typify guts and fight. Agree with some posters he can be on the edge of a red. Only a year ago this was Flanagan-now he was a liability and slow.

PB will prove to be a great signing alongside Cork, Tarks JBG & Pope

Today 20 years ago, my wife an avid United supporter watched her first game at TM with me. A less than convincing 0-0 draw against Chesterfield in freezing conditions. I pinched myself this morning at the prospects of going to OT for a Boxing Day fixture. What an incredible journey and fairy tales do come true. Long may it continue.

Pope 8

Bardsley 8
Long 8
Mee 8
Taylor 8

JBG 8
Defour 8
Cork 8
Arfield 8

Hendrick 8
Barnes 8

Vokes 8

Why all 8? Because it was a team performance. Yes, some played better than others. But we didn't have any passengers today. I'm not a fan of Hendrick playing behind a lone striker; I'd much rather see Barnes in there. But a player can close down opponents for 90 minutes without even touching the ball and have done a good job. ScottyArf "didn't do much". Except run himself silly closing down. So, I think Hendrick did the job SD asked of him otherwise he'd have hooked him.

Look at the defending done by JBG: the lad is superb.

Last season we got a goaless draw at OT and ragged it a bit. Today we took the game to them and scored twice. Unfortunately, they levelled it but I'm pretty certain that if you compared last season's match with today's we showed how much we've improved. I bet Mourinho's glad his multi-million team doesn't play us every week.

Pope 8
Mcbardsely 9 * MOM - He has been quality and unless he gets injured Lowton will keep his place on the bench.
Mee 9
Long 8 - Best game for the club, all credit to him and us!
Taylor 7
Arf 6
Cork 7
Defour 9
Hendrick 8 - His best game for weeks, that performer was needed badly
JBG - 7
Barnes - 7

Vokes - 6

I would have taken a point pre game, at half time and I'm delighted with one now. If we can get 4 points from the next 2 games and strengthen wisely with a couple of solid signings in Jan then maybe 7th is realistic. A fantastic day out and great to see Tom Heaton sat a few rows behind us today supporting the lads. UTC

Fantastic result. Maintained our record of only 3 defeats against the top six, now in 7 games, and all defeats have come when the first goal was a highly controversial penalty.

We took the initiative and deserved our lead. Moanrinho wasn’t very gracious afterwards but no doubt we deserved the point at least. Great that we have 20 players who can perform at this level (which we must have, having 6 reserves in plus Walters, Vokes and Marney on the bench). We’ll need 20 for a fair crack at the Europa League next season without harming our chances of staying up.

Did you miss Scotty hitting the bar with a nice dink over the keeper? After playing United off the park for around 30 passes around the 8 minute mark.

Hendricks 6 until Defour came off, 8 when he moved back to the midfield.

Clear that he is playing out of position but wouldn’t be able to take the place of Defour or Cork. Also highlights that we need a specialist for that position.

Mee getting 9's? Is that an extra one for his assist with Lingard's 2nd? If Long had failed to clear that he would be getting slated.

The first sensible comment on here. Hendrick did so much closing down off the ball it was unreal. A great team performance.

As a 44-year old Burnley fan, we were 5 minutes away from possibly the best result I`ve ever seen watching the mighty Clarets. Simply incredible stuff. My disappointment faded very quickly with the realisation of were we now are as a football club.

Pope 9 - I don`t think Heaton`s getting the gloves back. His command of the area is second to none. If De Gea had pulled off THAT save in the 2nd half the pundits would have been declaring it the save of the season.

Bardsley 10 MOM- an incredible defensive display. The tenacity he shows is off the chart.
Long 8 - he was as sound as a pound with one superb block to deny Ibrahomovic to boot.
Mee 10 - incredible stuff. If he doesn`t get a call-up to the Englans squad soon then there`s something very, VERY wrong.
Taylor 7 - may seen a smidgeon low but although he was solid, it terrified me every time Young (should also be in the England squad) was up against him.

Gudmundsson 9 - the heart of a Viking. SUCH a willing runner with final delivery to boot.
Cork 8 - did what he does with very little fuss.
Defour 9 - WHAT A FREE KICK! WHAT A PLAYER. He`ll be off to the World Cup but hopefully nowhere else.
Arfield 7 - ummm...stuck to his guns and helped out defensively.

Hendrick 6 - honestly didn`t see anything from him. Some suggest (co-commentator included) he marshalled Matic so if true happy to be wrong. I JUST am not seeing any physicality in his game at the moment.

Barnes 8 - thought he was a 10 in the first half (barring stupid yellow card) as he bullied and harried and held the ball so well. 2nd half more isolated as we defended deep but a fantastic player and another big goal.

Pope - 8 excellent game, I do love the way he comes out for the ball
Taylor - 7 growing into the team
Long - 7 I never doubted, but lots of people should be eating crow, questioning why he is still at the club.
Mee - 7 typical Mee, good game
Bardsley - 8 brave as a lion, doesn't mind putting his body on the line
Arfield - 6 can never fault his effort, but gave away too many cheap, silly free kicks too close to the area.
Cork - 6 an outstanding season, but the last few games he hasn't been at his best
Defour - 8 another good game, considering the opposition
JBG - 9 mom our biggest threat, and always looked to cause problems when he got the ball
Hendrick - 6 another game that drifted by. Works his socks off, but there is very little to show for his efforts. Still think the role doesn't suit him.
Barnes - 8 does what Ash does, love the guy

Hard to be churlish with such a great result, one we would have bitten an arm off for, before kick off. But we really blew it the last 15 minutes. Played far too deep, and as in other matches this season don't know how to get rid of the ball. Headers that barely clear the box, and hoofs that don't get anywhere near the half way line, is not the way to defend. I'm sure the occasion and the score had a lot to do with it, but we did have chances to play the ball out and relieve some of the pressure, but we never took advantage and just gave the ball back to United. It was always going to cost us in the end.

No, I didn't but to be perfectly honest I'd forgotten it when writing. You did right to mention it (I'm being sincere). I love ScottyArf. He epitomises SD's reign at Burnley. Cast off by Huddersfield but thankfully our manager signed him up. He's what he is in the PL. But he's a true Claret and he relished yesterday's battle.

Harsh. Mee was fantastic throughout the game, made a last minute block that could have stopped goal. Long gets hammered because of his performances

7’s all round and 8 for Defour corker .We weren’t great but we were good ,against serious world class players . We were brave and a tad unlucky . A few silly fouls and some important ones too. Their late free kick should never ever have been given though it was our free kick.

Pope 8 Several quality saves and good handling. The save from Lingard was of the highest quality and would have been all over the sports news had in been De Gea.
Bardsley 7 Solid at the back is our Phil and given the quality of the opposition his concentration was 100% spot on.
Long 8 An excellent display, he handled the opposition very well, Lakaku was all but absent yesterday.
Mee 8 Another quality display from our underrated inspirational leader and our stand out man
Taylor 7 Was up against it yesterday but played with a calm assurance
Arfield 7 So unlucky not to score and never gives less that 100%
Cork 7 It's hard to stand out when Pogba is on the pitch but Jack played his role and helped to break up their attacks very well.
Defour 8 Another display of sheer class and his free kick shows why we need to rotate the dead ball strikes.
Gudmundson 7 Good game from the Ice Cool Johan.
Hendrick 7 A better showing than the previous few games.

Vokes 7

I don't think anyone can be blamed for the 2 goals they scored and I though the Referee was a bit too liberal with the yellow cards. The only really poor challenge in the game was Ashley Barnes on Pogba.

Cork 7
Defour 9
Hendrick 7
Arfield 7
Barnes 8
Subs: Walters 7, Vokes 7
Great result, despite the late equalizer. Defours free kick was in as soon as he hit it, whilst Mee was collossal in a brilliant defence.

Deserved point at Old Trafford with players missing. We've come a long way.

Agree with all these ratings and comments - spot on

Hendrick definitely had a better game than recently for me - the whole team played brilliant in the first half and then defended for their lives in the second half.

Thought Pogba was very good for United and the subs made a big difference. Ashley Young was also a big influence on the game and played like a right winger....they had so many attacking players on the pitch there was always going to be at least one man spare - and it was usually Young.

Defour free kick was probably the best I have seen from a Burnley player in my 40 years of watching
