Roll call for Huddersfield.

Post by TonbridgeClaret » Wed Dec 27, 2017 8:33 am

My wife and I are driving up from Kent tomorrow in readiness to attend the Huddersfield and Liverpool games with our friends from Wiltshire. It's nice and balmy down here but we understand it's not looking quite so good up there. We're staying in a cottage until New Year's Day near Hebden Bridge, hopefully there won't be too much snow for the short drive to Hudds!

I hope you have better luck than I did yesterday.
The sat nav said arrival at the cricket ground was 13.25, it took over an hour to get from the M1 to Saddleworth. I got in 5 minutes late, watched the game for 4/5 mins then looked at the score board. I didn't even know we bloody scored. I had to ask the guy next to me to confirm it wasn't a mistake.

It was all worth it in the end.

2 of us, been looking forward to this one since the fixtures came out, but not those plastic clappy things those town fans are using.

OP. Did well to get you and your friends tickets for both.
No 5,000 points or queuing from 8:00 in the morning and still getting tickets is great work.

Thanks MACCA, Liverpool game was obviously straightforward. Huddersfield game was through our Foundation membership but sadly we couldn't get tickets for all of us, so shopping in Huddersfield beckons!

Should have asked me or Tom H, we don't need points, could have sorted you out. I had a friend who had 2 spare yesterday, how many do you need?

And I'm still trying to get another one if any come up. Tried various options but no joy so far. Would take two rather than leave someone with an odd one.

Anyone catching the train; remember to split your ticket. Buy a return to brighouse and another return from brighouse to Udders. It'll save about £15.

Ive just had a look and its a big saving:
Burnley -Udders £30 return
Burnley- brighouse £8.40 & brighouse -udders £3. You don't have to get off at brighouse, just travel through...

I presume that's changing at Halifax?

You have to change at Brighouse if going the Tod route.

Again split fares.

Yeah we'll go via Halifax. Can nip for a beer and you're not relying on 2 northern rail connections at Tod & brighouse. Split tickets valid on either route.

I just hope there's room on the train from Brighouse as it could be packed with clarets coming from Halifax.

On the train from Penrith.
A much longer and more complicated journey than usual, owing to Manchester Piccadilly being shut on Saturday.

There was plenty of room last time and we took over 4k. Only 2.5k travelling this time. Shouldn't be an issue.

Once again if anyone has any spare adult tickets for this match before or on the day I would be massively greatful. Have a friend travelling up from Devon who is after detouring his visit to watch the match.

If any tickets pop up please drop me a text or call me on 07592619536.

Cheers again! Jake P.
