Driving to huddersfield
Anyone drove there before? Ive got parking sorted at the stadium but need a quick getaway tomorrow. So hoping not to end up stuck in traffic.
Am I better parking at the ground as planned or alternate arrangements? Need to be back in burnley no later than 7.
Thanks in advance.

Don't get too close to the ground is my advice - we parked very close one year in the car park when I took a disabled bloke and it took forever to get out

There is some info on free parking and quick getaway routes on the Huddersfield ticket thread.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Ive got free parking included at the stadium so sounds like a no go?

Re: Driving to huddersfield
If you want a quick getaway then don't park near the ground or anywhere near Leeds road. After the match is chaos with a combination of football, a retail park and general traffic.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Anyone drove there before? I'd suggest parking near the Slubbers pub. You can get to it directly from junction 24 via grimescar road, a quick look on Google maps will suffice (it's much quicker than using the main road into town). It's a 15 min walk to the ground from there but after the game you'll avoid all the traffic...

You could park further out Leeds Rd and head Leeds bound to rejoin at J25, Brighouse.

Re: Driving to huddersfield
We parked on the main road outside Slubbers, thank you very much.
Top parking spot for a getaway. Back home in Rawtenstall for 17. 45 hrs gmt, saw no traffic.
Had some top parking info from this site over the last 2 away matches and long may it continue
Pre match planning and covert work is so very important to achieve maximum pleasure from an away trip

Re: Driving to huddersfield
On a serious note was perfect. Getting out of the ground at the end i was in was a real bottle neck. And the traffic equally bad. But by the time i got to slubbers I was away in pretty quick time and home 45 mins ahead of when I needed to be top advice thanks.Transpennine wrote:How was it for you...?"
