Re: FAO MACCA
I'll play.
These are what I think are reasonable questions that could be asked.
1. Why has Mr Hendrick continued in a role that he seems to have been struggling with for a number of weeks?
2. After the recent busy schedule, are Mr Wells and Walters deemed not good enough to start when it has been apparent our recent struggle in putting the ball in the net with any sort or regularity.
3. How did we get in the situation where we only had 1 fit winger on our books to start today?
4. How come we have up to 6 natural forwards yet we have one playing wide left, and persist in playing another player in the number 10 role who looks totally uncomfortable in that role.
5. Why haven't we judged each game on it's merit and tried different tactics and/or personnel to try something different than the keep it tight and nick a goal routine.
6. Are there any irons in the fire regarding new first team recruits?
7. Are there any plans to let any of the current squad leave either on loan or preeminent?
8. How long is it until we can expect Heaton, Ward, Wood and Arfield challenging for a first team start again?
I'm sure there are several other reasonable questions that could be asked after the recent below par displays both individually and collectively.

1. Ask the manager.
2. Ask the manager.
3. We had two, Arfield and NKoudou.
4. Ask the manager.
5. Ask the manager.
6. Yes. But no point asking the manager about this one, because he won't tell you.
7. Yes. But no point asking the manager about this one, because he won't tell you.
8. Ask the physio.
This is the problem with having a manager do all the work instead of letting the fans do it - he does things we don't agree with, and there's nothing we can do about it. It's tough.

2. Both were signed as back up. I'm not sure anyone expected either of them to be regular starters.
3. That's why we've just signed another one on loan, presumably.
4. That was kind of answered in questions 1 and 3.
5. I don't think we do use the same tactics every game.
6. Probably.
7. possibly.
8. They probably vary, but keep checking the press and this website!

Re: FAO MACCA
I agree with MACCA, questions to be asked. Some mind baffling decisions.
If the fans can see Hendrick isn't a number 10 then why is he STILL playing there? I know the fans aren't football managers but we're not all stupid and sometimes correct. It's unfairly making Hendrick look a bad player (when he isn't), zapped all confidence from him and certain fans are now getting on his back.
What is the purpose of signing players like Wells and Walters? I just don't get it at all. I think they're cheap options to provide cover because he wasn't backed enough to bring in better quality to seriously fight for first 11 spots (that's my opinion).
Question number 8 is very good, Why do we continue to be fed lies? we were told 5 weeks ago Wood was ''touch and go''.
5 very good, it appears with Dyche we can only play 1 way, there's no adapting and a stubbornness to change. Where has the neat football gone? the squad looks to be playing without any confidence at all. Dyche says a lot about ''mixing it up'' in our approach play but I just don't see it at all anymore, I see us defensive and hoofing it again like last year, hoping to nick a goal and not really going for it with any kind of conviction.
Why is Lowton not back in the team? excellent before injury then can't get back in when Bardsley's been bobbins in comparison.
Who is responsible for the recruitment of players? Walters, Wells, Bardsley? Is that the best we can do, really.... we're still shopping at the charity shop after Dyche has 2 promotions and a survival season behind him, why is this? He's earned the club a lot of money, why is it not being spent and why are we heading into a PL season having turned a profit on transfers?

Re: FAO MACCA
Q 11. Why do you take so long to make substitutions dyche? N to give Wells only 5 mins is baffling..
Re: FAO MACCA
12. Mr Dyche, you regularly sing the praises of the lads on the bench or sometimes not in the squad at all who are chomping at the bit, and give you selection headaches. Who are these players and what score or set of results are needed before we see them in action?

Re: FAO MACCA
Some of them will get their chance perhaps sooner rather than later, just like Vokes and Taylor have. Whilst things have taken a turn for the worse results wise, I feel prior today we have performed well recently and have, at times, been a little unlucky. So I thought it was entirely reasonable based on that, and what I see on a daily basis in training, to give those players another opportunity to put in a good performance and this time get the win we all wanted. That didn't happen but I've no crystal ball. I might make one or two changes for the next game. We have exceeded our objectives so far this season and I ask that all supporters continue to get behind us. I can promise you two things. First, that me, my staff and the players will be making every effort to get the next win soon. Second, there will inevitably be points during the remainder of the season when we have a unwelcomed run of results.MACCA wrote:12. Re: FAO MACCA
I was at the game today - was home 90 minutes after final whistle. Disappointing result - but, taking the season as a whole, who expected us to be 7th after 23 games - only 15 more to enjoy.
My thoughts after today:
I wish we didn't pass back to the keeper so often from the half-way line. Yes, keeping possession is good and we did quite a bit some parts of the game today. But, the only result from the ball being passed back to Nick Pope was that we lost possession as soon as he kicked it back up field. There was at least one occasion when we had a throw in near CP's penalty area, but even that went back in stages to Nick Pope. If we've done all the work to get it up there, please work out how to get it in an area where we can attack the oppositions goal.
I wish we didn't waste so many dead ball situations, FKs and corners. Nearly every one today went straight into Hennessy's hands, several were too far from any of the Burnley players to have a chance of attacking the ball.
Are we planning some "warm weather" get away after the ManU game? It looks like the team need a break and re-fresh, I can't pick one player today who didn't look like he was running on "half-empty."
Welcome, G-K Nkoudou. Debut for a new club is a natural time to aim to impress. Coming on when we are 1-0 down only adds to the weight of expectation on your shoulders. Relax. Don't worry about the result today. You will be a good addition to the squad.

1. Who else in there? We are Burnley we simply can not afford to have 2 players with Jeffs ability in our squad. Regardless of how many millions we have.MACCA wrote:I'll play.

2. Morata. Lukaku. £150m combined. Both had/having lean spells in front of goal. Yet they play week in/week out. Why? Because they have scored and are the main threat. They'll score again and win their teams games again. Like ours will.
3. Like 1. You honestly think a player with Brady or Guds ability would happily sit on the bench for £35/40,000 a week at Burnley? Honestly?
4. You answered this yourself. Naturally forwards you say? Not naturally 10s different ball game these days
5. We play the team WE want to play. Which is the correct why IMO. We shouldn't be looking t the opposition and picking players based on what they do.
6,7,8 I don't know

Where did folk expect us to be in the league table after 23 games of the season and if it wasn't in the top six why the feck are you moaning?

Firstly I need to go night fishing more often, woken up to a net full.
Secondly I don't think anyone has called us sh1t.
We will have blips, the performance, players and result will get questioned of what went wrong if anything has.
Just like when we praise a peice of individual brilliance, great team display or a magic win v the big boys.
I'm not the sort ( like most winners or achievers) that will accept average without asking questions when it has been proven that they can be better. You have to keep inching forward in progress.
When maximum effort is applied you have to hold your hand up and say the better team won, however when that hasn't happened people can rightly ask why.
It maybe the players are tired, maybe the ones given the chance weren't good enough or ready to take it, maybe we got it tactically wrong. There are answers from today ehy we were so poor, palace not much better , yet they cruised in 2nd gear to 3 points .

Sadly for you, M, I wasn't communicating with you directly but merely ridiculing some pompous berk's stupid comment.
The fact that it turned out to be yours was pure coincidence.

A thread addressed to me you open up, a comment you ended up quoting just ended up being mine.
Once again quite a lot of coincidences Edward. Do you see the pattern emerging here again?
You could have easily scrolled past the thread, even ignored my posts, however curiosity got the better of you again.
One way to deal with addiction Edward is to remove temptation and try to avoid your triggers.

Mee, Tarkowski, Cork, Defour and possibly Gudmundsson. You’re right though, they have a lot of attacking talent and I thought their full backs were excellent.Bin Ont Turf wrote:My question is, who would Roy take from our team/squad to make Palace a better team?

3 of their back 4 were out yesterday ( and I'm sure I read 6 first steamer in total ) and I thought they limited us to nothing, which I'm not sure was their amazing efforts, our below par display, or a bit of both.
From theirs I'd probably only take similar if not less to be honest. So fairly evenly matched teams.
