That was the night you could fit Old Trafford into Burnley
Probably like you we started on the Longside and were pushed all the way around to the last third of the Beehole.
Hundreds disappeared out of the gates and my scarf was well and truly ditched early.

I remember a Manu game where a few dozen or so Burnley lads had moved back on the longside at the bottom corner but were soon to be attacked again by those Manu thugs.
Not at all sure of the year, but might have been the same game where a mob of manu fans looted that then shop at the corner of Mitella Street/Lyndhurst Road.

I was at that game, just gone 10 years old. I went home and told my Dad that Duncan Edwards was dirty. I haven't changed my mind.

Briiliant footage - thanks for sharing.
My first game at the Turf was the FA Cup 3rd round tie with Liverpool in January 1973 when both teams were top of their respective divisions. I recall around 33,000 on that day - but on three sides as I seem to remember standing on the Longside looking over at a building site that was the Bob Lord stand. So what would the attendance have been with all four sides employed?

Dazzler, I'm amazed, I've just seen your post. I'm still not convinced, I need a second opinion.
I was at the game and you were annoying me so much with your misremembering that I dug this out.
Tickets for the Cricket Field Stand were £1, which is £11.51 in today's money.

I think this was the game when some Everton fans watched the game from the roof of the Longside.

I thought it said 'Busty Babes...'. Oh well.
On the film it said that Sam Hanna filmed Burnley on a regular basis to help with tactics etc.. I wonder therefore if further film of the Burnley team of that era exists somewhere?

It's quite a while since I watched the "Rhapsody In Claret And Blue" video but I think there might be one or two more clips on there.

That's an unbelievable link Stan Tastic.
Never before seen the two games against Arsenal (1937) and Notts County (1950).
The game against Arsenal is the one referred to by bfc in an earlier post when a 60,000 gate was anticipated at the Turf for the 5th Round FA Cup tie against the all conquering Arsenal side of the 1930's. We lost the game 1-7 with an official attendance of 54,445. Look at the Longside on the video which is nowhere near as high as it later became.
The game at Notts County is a 3rd Round FA Cup tie where we won 4-1. Look closely at the scorer of our third goal, No.10 Harry Potts. Our other scorers were Spencer, Wilson and Reg Attwell. Notts County's captain was Tommy Lawton who obviously played for us some years earlier.
Brilliant clips and many thanks.

Thanks Stan. Nothing like a fact to rest the mind.
