I agree its difficult to avoid Amazon. But Starbucks there is no need to use. There is Costa a British Company which also owns al Premier Inn. And lots of independent coffee shops. So absolutely no need to use Starbucks who are prime tax avoiders. So you can make a difference there.

They haven't paid as much this time. 9.2m a game instead of 10.3m last time.

Showing more games though so teams won't notice the difference.

Sky bigging themselves up, as they do, but no mention of the midweek every match package.
Just read on another article there are 40 more matches in 2 packs covering midweek and BHs.

Re: Premier League TV rights 2019-2022
The last two packages are for the midweek games. One package covers two sets of midweek games and the other one set of midweek games and one set of Bank Holiday games. All 40 matches will be shown. Sky can't win both those packages because they would go beyond the limit of games permissible for one broadcaster, and I don't think BT want them. I suspect this is where Amazon comes in.piston broke wrote:http://www.skysports.com/share/11248738

I can't see them getting much for the final 2 packages which would mean a fall in the overall revenue.

Re: Premier League TV rights 2019-2022
From what I've read, Sky can't get both remaining packages due to an upper limit of how many games they can buy. So they can only grab one of the two.claretandy wrote:I can't see them getting much for the final 2 packages which would mean a fall in the overall revenue.
I've not read anywhere though that compares Sky's won packages vs what they currently have. Does anybody know how much better off they will be from 2019 vs BT Sports, than they are this season?

They very much do:ClaretTony wrote:I don't think BT want them.
The Premier League auction remains ongoing and BT will continue to engage with the Premier League regarding the remaining rights.

If all 10 games are shown live at once then you will have about 15k viewers for B'mouth Vs Huddersfield or similar. The audiences will be diluted so what will they be worth?

Re: Premier League TV rights 2019-2022
If they got rid of Michael Owen, that would be a step in the right direction.
I dont even know who presenters are, that's how much I am interested in BT Sports involvement its the gray area of the game very underwhelming.
What would be a yearly subscription to have the privilege of this aring to view if one does not have the BT package.
Can imagine that they have bitten off more than they can chew with the kings ransom that they paid on the deal.

I must be reading the wrong newspaper sites - could it be that Sky & BT end up with one each of the other packages then?simonclaret wrote:They very much do:

I find it pretty pretentious all these people ordering anything other than a Nescafe

Sky can have one more, BT can have them both should they bid that way - Can see Sky bidding for the Bank Holiday (Monday Night consistency) though both remaining packages fit BT's Midweek Football approach)ClaretTony wrote:I must be reading the wrong newspaper sites - could it be that Sky & BT end up with one each of the other packages then?
The thing limiting Sky is the overall 148 games maximum per season allowed under the rules - as demonstrated on the magic money tree thread - Sky have played a corker
