Narcos was great and If you can get through the first couple of episodes, prepare to be thoroughly demoralised by The making of a murderer
Making of a Murderer is one of the best (and most frustrating) things I've seen. How on earth Brendan Dassey is still in prison, I will never know.

Mr Mercedes, very disturbing 1st episode, but, well worth getting into.

Happy, is different. ;)

Gomorah, Italian crime drama, IMHO it's the best tv series ever. Don't let the subtitles put you off watching this masterpiece.
Hi Clevedon, thanks for the recommendations! Had never heard of Mr Mercedes. Having read the synopsis, it sounds like a good watch.

We've watched Alias Grace this week.
It's based on a novel by Margaret Atwood.
I've really enjoyed it but then I really like her work.

No, unfortunately not. Looked like he was getting out but it was appealed by the Wisconsin Justice Department with the conviction eventually upheld. His legal team are now appealing to the US Supreme Court.

Makes my blood boil. Guy has a low IQ, was a kid at the time, had no lawyer present and his confession seemed very much coerced. Just doesn't seem right.

Have to agree with above re: Gommorah. Series 3 finished last night on Sky. Not sure what back series are on Netflix but if you can get it from S1 E1 it's worth the time.

I’ve just watched a 6 part drama on Sky Atlantic with Lennie James called “Save Me”

From the makers of Line Of Duty, it’s excellent.

Same here, heartbreaking. I still can't understand why there hasn't been more of a stink made at government level in the US. The level of apparent apathy in America regarding this, just compounds it

Not Netflix - but Sneaky Pete returns on Amazon Video tomorrow.

Couldn’t recommend the first season highly enough!

Fantastic series :D
In a similar vein, All or Nothing follows one American football team through a whole season, the third series is coming out this month. So far they've followed the Arizona Cardinals, LA Rams and the new one will be the Dallas Cowboys. A good knowledge of the sport is not required, it's more about what goes on behind the scenes.

Just started The Crown. I'm not a royalist in any way but it's excellent. John Lithgow is brilliant as Churchill, as is Matt Smith as Prince Philip.

It’s got 8.1 on IMDB.

I wasn’t the only one who thought it was good.

That sounds great! I'll get to watching that after I've seen the second season of Last Chance U. Thanks for the recommendation :)

If your Netflix log in isn't used by at least 5 people in 3 different countries, are you even using it properly?

I thought Bloodline was very good.

Like many loved Breaking Bad but I never tried Better Call Saul. Got recommended this last night in the pub....so might give it a try now.

Just watched the first couple of episodes of Santa Clarita Diet with the Mrs last night. Features Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant. Was absolutely dire - haven't seen anything that bad in a long, long time. We'll move on to something else - plenty of choice!
