Lottery

Post by tim_noone » Tue Mar 20, 2018 9:10 pm

Just watching amazing hotels on bbc2 and thinking a lottery win and a stay would be affordable and possible....what as happened to the lottery winners no one seems to win now, where previous there was always someone winning tens of million.

More numbers = Smaller possibility of a jackpot. Probably more chance of being hit by a meteorite on the way to buy a ticket.

Double the price. Halve the winnings. Put the odds of winning the jackpot up ten fold.

I only "put it on" for the missus with her numbers. I stick with the Euros. At least if you DID win the Euros, it would be truly life changing, not like the pittance the Lotto has these days - you'd barely get a decent house out of their jackpots.

If you don't buy your lottery ticket online, you're actually more likely to die on your way to the shop, than win it.

I don't do Lotto (if that's what it's still called), but there were always better odds by playing different lotteries, such as the Irish one.

There still are massive wins. It's just that the newspapers know that after their readers read it again and again, they got bored. The wave was over. Just like "Who wants to be a millionaire" was on ITV.

It still happens, just as often as it did - it's just not publicized to the same scale as it once was.

Don't do the English lottery any more.
Stopped doing the Euro's after when checking them at work one Saturday morning whilst on overtime, I had got 5 numbers, ( 3 and 2 stars I think it was ) I thought happy days this will pay for something, and really help me out with a bill or something. My next 5 hours dragged, I raced to the paper shop after work to find I'd won about £50. Talk about deflated!
I used to do £5-£10 a week on various lottery's, now I have found I may aswell put it all in a big glass jar each week, and believe it or not, a week before my holidays I always manage to "win" about £500 extra spending money for my holidays....

Certainly beats winning the odd £10 throughout the year.

It'll still be a snip, as well as the best investment other than Mr Dyche the club could ever make.

The national lottery scheme should be run on a strictly not-for-profit basis with all the money, after running costs and prize money payout, going to good causes.
