Is this the same guy who sexed up the dossier that eventually took us to a war that has opened a real massive can of worms? Well we can believe him then can't we

Or is it the guy who ended up throwing punches at a fellow journo who dared to criticise his employer, Robert Maxwell ?Stayingup wrote:Is this the same guy who sexed up the dossier that eventually took us to a war that has opened a real massive can of worms? Well we can believe him then can't we
Or the chap who thought it appropriate to lecture British Lions players on the 2005 tour, accusing them of a lack of heart, and resulting in them wanting to " punch his f*****g lights out " or the fellow who talks openly about defying the democratic wishes of the British people, and now edits a Newspaper, devoted to that particular aim ?
Yep, that's him !

His rise to unelected political power, plus a successful battle against alcoholism and depression, obviously qualifies him to rail against the vote of
the plebs.
the plebs.

On the subjcet of the Podcast - Sean Dyche would make a better PM, but wouldn't want the job.
Anyone good enough to be able to do it well wouldn't want to do it.

He does do something positive - he mentions Burnley FC pretty much wherever he goes. Not bad for publicity.

I never understood why he was never governed by the same travel restrictions placed on the rest of us when travelling to Ewood Park, but was allowed to drive and had a reserved parking space, its not like he's a director or similar, he still Sat in the Darwen end.....

I follow people on twitter, whose political, personal, whatever views I might disagree with.
I follow them because they are Burnley fans and there can never be enough of us in the media.
Knows his stuff about Burnley, clearly as bonkers about the club as we all are and he annoys the hell out of every single Brexiteer. Whats not to like?

Re: Alistair Campbell being his usual self
Being a Burnley supporter is his only redeeming feature.
Re: Alistair Campbell being his usual self
What's not to like ? It's easier to answer 'what's to like ?' He's a Burnley fan that's it. Not keen on this preferential treatment he's been given by the club. Not everyone likes him or agrees with his views or role in the Blair lies.
Re: Alistair Campbell being his usual self
I think he’s great.
Re: Alistair Campbell being his usual self
He plays the pipes and is a devoted Claret.
I forgive him being a Campbell (almost!)

He may be the best PR/Spin Man in the history of the UK Politics, but I'm not sure Darren Bentley would see him as an assetFactualFrank wrote:He does do something positive - he mentions Burnley FC pretty much wherever he goes. Not bad for publicity.

Like someone mentioned above, his seemingly only redeeming feature is that he’s a claret.

He was also very good at his job. Whether you agree with what his job was is a different matter.Bordeauxclaret wrote:Like someone mentioned above, his seemingly only redeeming feature is that he’s a claret.
Interesting that Bernard Ingham was a Claret too, and he was an equally divisive character.
Re: Alistair Campbell being his usual self
What has the lead singer of UB40 been up to now?
Re: Alistair Campbell being his usual self
his name is Alastair. Try harder to get it right. He's a good bloke.
