Swiss Ramble - Burnley 16/17 Accounts - Simplified
Swiss Ramble is a Twitter account (run by a finance guy) that runs through the accounts of football clubs around the world.
He basically breaks down all parts of a football clubs accounts, then gives you commentary and his own graphs about it.
He makes it very interesting to read, easy to digest and so that anyone can understand it.
This link shows you the entire thread on Twitter - it'll take you 15 minutes to read (properly).
Here it is: https://twitter.com/SwissRamble/status/ ... 6284259328" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Enjoy - it just shows you how amazingly well this club is being run!

Very interesting way to present the information from the accounts. I particularly like the quote: "Unlike many clubs #BurnleyFC pay their own way. Since 2009 they generated £104m from operations. Of this, £52m went on players (net), while £16m was invested in infrastructure (mainly Barnfield training ground) and £16m interest/loan payments. £20m increased cash balance."

That goes very well with the clubs mantra of 'living within our means'.ClaretPope wrote:Very interesting way to present the information from the accounts. I've used this site when I'm mooching around social media poking fun at other clubs and despite the clear information it gives, fans of other clubs try to dismiss what he says.

He only states facts, none of it is really *opinion*.
He just explains what amortization costs of players means, for example. Which 99% of the population, wouldn't even understand what amortization is...

We're knackered if we go down. 100% reliant on the TV money.

This year's accounts has the Keane and Gray sales in - our profit will be higher.
There's clauses in every players contract saying they take a big pay cut if we go down.
We get parachute payments.
We are about to post a top 10 finish (virtually all but guaranteed).
STFU!

If you want to pick an arguement with fans of another club about finances swiss ramble is the go to website when people ask for proof.
Boro fans being an example when they've been told Gibson wrote off about £80 million just prior to FFP kicking in, they don't believe it and despite the proof on swiss ramble they still generally don't.

Then they're fickle and clearly morons, franklySidney1st wrote:That's my point.

So is 75% of the rest of the Premier League. We've built up some cash reserves so, together with parachute payments, we could last a couple of seasons if we went down. If we didn't get promoted in that time though we'd be scuppered. It's no different to many other clubs though.UpTheBeehole wrote:We're knackered if we go down. 100% reliant on the TV money.

An excellent account to follow as he simplifies accounts so most can understand. Not seen the Venkys ones yet but they will be a laugh a minute. Next year's with the lack of parachute payments, almost non existent TV money and reduced match day income, along with an inflated wage bill will be hysterical.

Im not one normally to defend UTB , as Ive had a verbal joust or two with him on here.I suspect in this case however his post might just be taking the proverbial...I would agree with those posters recommending Swiss Ramble's work by the way.
