Grand National

Post by happyclaret17 » Sat Apr 14, 2018 9:07 am

Well I backed 7 horses none runner no bet and just 4 have made the race.
prices taken below and all backed ew 123456 1/5 odds.
I have negatives for all of the other 36 horses but as ever you just hope for a clear run round and nothing silly happening.
I JUST KNOW 25/1
MILANSBAR 33/1
VIEUX LION ROUGE 33/1
PERFECT CANDIDATE 66/1

gun to my head the first 2 named would be the best.
good luck...utc.

Just got 12/1 on Betfair for Harry Kane, I reckon I've had their pants down.

Why's Pendra 100/1 Happy?

Qualifies for all the stats banded about.

I liked Pendra Quickenthetempo but will give you a few details as to why the horse is a negative.
recent winners had
3...5...4...8...4...3...4...6...4...5...6...6...5...9...6...6...6...6....5...4...5...6...7...2...5....4...6 and 7 runs in the season....this year that could be ultra important with emphasis on fitness and stamina in the ground.
I also dont like horses beaten in the race before unless there was a genuine excuse for the poor run.
the one I almost included as a fifth bet was chase the spud but pulling up twice on the trot hardly an ideal prep.

ideal candidate 3 to 8 runs in season
10/13 past winners had between 10 and 14 chase starts.....other 3 had 23...24 and 27.

25/27 winners had run within 45 days....other 2 were last years 84 day lay off and another at 58 days.

Pendra's sire is a positive however but I have to be strict oin picks....can't have them all.

after all that I looked at the class of the horse and the sires ability to stay the extreme trip.....happy with the 4
but need to avoid the usual trouble in running.

Not a great fan of the race , so don't spend a lot of time researching it , will trade the race but no strong views. For what it's worth my 4 against the field would be

UCELLO CONTI .. Trading at 22.00 on Betfair
SEEYOUATMIDNIGHT .. Trading ar 16.00 on Betfair
HOULONS DES OBEAUX .. Trading at 36.00 on Betfair
TOTAL RECALL .. Trading at 15.00 on Betfair

Been away the last few days but will post views on Sundays Racing etc tomorrow .. Good Luck !!

I have added CHASE THE SPUD to my bets....available at 40 on betfair....as with others backed the horse ew 123456.
when I look at the horses 5 runs at 3m 4f plus on soft or heavy ground he has been 1st and 2nd both times encountering a flat track
so at the price this is going to be my 5th selection.
