His dad was at the game yesterday. Not sure if he goes to every game. Or if it means anything.

I hope we sign Jay Rod & Dawson. Both SD type of players. JR is the ideal No 10 and proved today he still has quality and determination, and can still score

Re: Jay Rod!!
Why can’t people move on , he had the opportunity to come in the summer, turned us down for more money at WBA , leave him there , championship player at best .

Re: Jay Rod!!
He's scored 7 goals this season for the worst team in the league - same number as Ashley Barnes. He's perfectly capable at Premier League level as he demonstrated today.joey13 wrote:Why can’t people move on , he had the opportunity to come in the summer, turned us down for more money at WBA , leave him there , championship player at best .
Re: Jay Rod!!
More game time than Barnes, so irrelevant stat , we are moving forward not backwards .IndigoLake wrote:He's scored 7 goals this season for the worst team in the league - same number as Ashley Barnes. He's perfectly capable at Premier League level as he demonstrated today.

Re: Jay Rod!!
Far more effective than Jeff Hendricks in that #10 role and there's more goals in him than Jeff. If we are trying to improve incrementally, he, or his like is the level of player we should be aiming at. Not knocking Jeff here, I think Hendricks is a good midfielder.
Re: Jay Rod!!
You’ll be happy to know that he is 100% coming back in the summerjoey13 wrote:Why can’t people move on , he had the opportunity to come in the summer, turned us down for more money at WBA , leave him there , championship player at best .

Re: Jay Rod!!
It isn't irrelevant at all. My point is that if he's capable of scoring 7 goals (so far) with such a crap team, he's clearly not 'championship at best' as you describe him. He's a very competent PL player.joey13 wrote:More game time than Barnes, so irrelevant stat , we are moving forward not backwards .
However, I take your point about moving forward and I'm more than happy if we find another target.

Re: Jay Rod!!
Noticed that Sturridge came on with about 6 minutes to go and with the 4 minutes added on spent a total of 10 minutes in the pitch. I could be wrong but I don't think he touched the ball at all in that time.

Re: Jay Rod!!
Yes edison, more effective in the #10 role that for a long period of this season Sean was trying to shoehorn Hendricks into. I don't think we are too short of midfield players with Hendricks, Defour, Cork and Westwood. It's the #10 role when playing a 4-5-1 that we are short of. Rodrigues today was up in support of Rondon when needed, but bolstered and linked the midfield as well.edison wrote:Yes, but is he more effective that Jeff Hendrick?

I'd have JayRod back in a heart beat. Think he's class and just the type player to improve us.
