Lineker: patronising freeloader
Re: Lineker: patronising freeloader
I don't agree with the licence fee, but still pay it. I don't agree with most of what my council tax and other taxes goes towards but still pay it. I'd be perfectly happy with the BBC resorting to adverts to fund their corporation, I mean; who watches the adverts anyway?! We live in an age where we can fast forward past them. Is it worth sending people to jail over? No. It just ends up costing me more taxes.
For those who argue we're the only ones who pay a licence fee. We don't. I know the Dutch do. Whichever way you look at it, it will be funded in one way or another.Whether anyone is worth their salary is an entirely different debate.
Regards Lineker. He's made no secret of his Leicester connections, which is fair do's. You can look at it as patronising. I prefer to look at the table and have the last laugh!

Ooh, and also the one where rich people aren't allowed to be socialists.
Think I'm winning the dickhead bingo.
You make a good observation. Gary Lineker is being called a virtue-signally despite doing a lot.

It's funny how wound up certain people get whenever the term is used.

It's cancerous to a discussion. No one's offended by it or anything, it's just a discussion killer, which is the only intention of those who use it.Damo wrote:It's funny how wound up certain people get whenever the term is used.

It's also really, really stupid. Which makes me think you are stupid. You call me a virtue-signaller because i don't demonstrate for the causes or policies i believe will do the most good, which is like me calling you a virtue-signaller when you say you're worried about immigration and think we should cut it, just because you don't go out and protest and demonstrate against immigration. And i'm pretty sure you've never once called anyone else it for their immigration concerns when they haven't protested or demonstrated.
If you want to troll this discussion board by playing the character of a complete hypocrite whose only contribution is to troll the users then by all means carry on. I think i've only ever non-jokingly reported one post on here by a regular user. I'm happy to start adding to it if you want to carry on being a troll trying to derail discussions. It's far easier for me to do that than to try and explain to you why what you're doing is cancerous to a discussion board.

I'm pretty sure calling someone a virtue signaller isn't an offence Charlie.

It's funny because I can certainly see a lot of these posters being the EDL/Lads Alliance going on a march type. Shall we do a little forum search on every time you've called someone an idiot/stupid on this forum whilst disagreeing with them on a subject? I suspect it will make that little Ringo collaboration you made look like a drop in a sea of ****.Imploding Turtle wrote:Only an idiot thinks i call people stupid because they disagree with me.

Well of course I disagree with them. I'm not going to call someone an idiot when they're right. So go on. You can do a forum search and you'll find that I call idiots an idiot only when they're so obviously wrong about something that you have to be an idiot not to see it.
Just because 100% of people I call idiots are people I disagree with doesn't mean the reason I'm calling them it is that they disagree with me, otherwise I'd be calling 100% of people who disagree with me idiots. And you have to be an idiot to think otherwise.
So go on. I'll wait.

Interesting line to take by Imploding
Someone he disagrees with is automatically wrong, never could he be wrong himself.
As for Lineker, if he was right wing and not left wing and was a still a proud member of tax avoidance schemes and then proceeded to tell Labour what they were doing was all wrong as well as how professing undying love for the NHS but moaned it was under funded I imagine his luvvies would have a field day.
Seems for some people if someone says out loud what they want to hear you can turn a blind eye to his hypocrisy.

I search for information that either supports or disproving my position. Tell me what's wrong with that? Do you not like it when someone has facts to support their position?

Nor do I desperately scour the internet to find a link saying I'm right.
It generally isn't worth my time anymore getting into a ******* contest with you or the other anal retentive people on here, so I tend to not take many discussions on here so seriously because what's the point?
I've been told my attitude on here is poor, people don't respect me etc and that's amusing in itself.
Being right isn't the most important thing in my life, I just object when certain trolls/dick heads claim that I know nothing about certain things, but nowadays I've learnt to block certain people and walkaway from responding to them.
Yeah you're right a lot of the time, but you clearly spend more time scouring the internet for things to back up anything you talk about, I prefer to spend my time online gaming or working to being on here now and I've felt like that for a while.
I'm going to read more than I comment in the future anyway, so you keep fapping away at your keyboard, I enjoy the laughs.

If you know the facts in the first place, you don't need to scour the internet to back up an opinion.
I base my opinions on fact. Facts I've learned through educating myself.
Unfortunately you guys fart out your opinion and then throw a wobbler when you're proven incorrect by facts we already know.
