Nagging barbers.

Post by gandhisflipflop » Thu May 03, 2018 1:06 pm

I have noticed recently the amount of barbers who stop to talk to customers or other barbers half way through cutting another customers hair. I had one last time who took 45 minutes to cut my hair to the point where i felt like saying something but felt rude. I won't be going back. Is it just me who this annoys? I don't mind a chat I'm not rude or anything but what is acceptable in a barbers?

Bird who cuts my hair could keep me in that chair all day long, especially when she's leaning over to do the sides, if you know what I mean!

What really annoys me are people who just don't need a haircut taking up chair time.
Groomed young lads are the worst. Should not be allowed.

Or old chaps who barely have any hair left to cut and instead of doing the sensible thing and shaving it themselves take up time sitting in the chair to get a haircut just to feel the touch of a young lady again :o

I once got my hair cut in the basement of Manchester Arndale i.e. the grotty bit which is/was more like a market than a shopping mall. The girl who cut my hair offered me a can of lager and a fag, both of which I duly accepted.

It is annoying when it happens and it is difficult to know how to react. Complain & get on with you hair cut and risk the possibly offended cutter deliberately making a mess; complain and walk out with half a cut; just let it ride and never go back again; best option is, I think, let it ride for the time being then when all is done complain and let them know you won't be back and why.

No idea Steve. It was 22 years ago and I imagine she's not quite as marvelous these days. Plus you can't have a crafty tab in a barbers anymore. The world's gone mad, I tell you.

No you were deluded in mistaking the comments for being sexist. Chauvinistic maybe, but not sexist.

I went to a barbers in Bolton many years ago when I was a student there. The fella offered me a bottle of becks whilst I was waiting - which I duly took. The bugger added £1.50 onto the cost of the haircut........

Clitheroe, in the seventies, there was a barber's known locally as Willy Wurzwick's, I think, and he used to sit in a chair that revolved round the customer's chair, (to give him ease of access and save him standing all of the time, I suppose). However, he had a tv positioned up in the corner of the room which he would watch more if, say, a programme he liked was on, than he would your hair! Needless to say I only went the once after I made the mistake of visiting when Pebble Mill at One was on. :D

Don't get me started. We might as well call it a hairdressers. You now have to book at some.
