Evening all,
I am lucky enough to be having the whole of August off from work and the plan is / was to fly me and the 2 kids to Spain to spend a couple of weeks with my Dad, then fly from there to Tenerife where Mrs Cheshire will meet us for 2 weeks over there.
I thought this was going to be pretty straightforward until I started to look into it and I have noticed that a) single flights are actually as expensive, if not more, than return flights and that b) booking flights between Spain and Tenerife appears a bit of a problem as a UK national?
I am quite possibly just being a total halfwit and not looking in the right place, so as the place that seems to have the answer to everything else, I wonder whether any fellow clarets on here may be able to help me and point me in the right direction, even if that means recommending a travel agent (a fellow claret travel agent would be ideal

)?
Thanks all,
Cheshire

Surely you should be waiting for the Europa league draw before committing yourself to the family...priorities and all that!

This holiday commitment is entirely so I CAN commit to some Europa League away trips (assuming we get through the qualifiers, of course................)

Just go on google flights
Type in departure/arrival (can seperate multiple airports with a , )
Click on calendar
find the cheapest one
Then check Momondo for an "online travel agent" who will generally be a few quid cheaper.
If your dates aren't flexible, click track prices and it'll email you every time they change

Thanks starting_11, I will have a crack at that tomorrow. Again, to show my halfwittery, is the 'online travel agent' a programme or a human?

Have you tried Ryanair? They fly from several places in Spain to Tenerife. Just had a quick look on their site and some flights from Barcelona in August are only 35euros.

Hi Cheshire, a lot of airlines quote one-way fares, but you might need to try and find their "quiet period" to get good fairs from Manchester (or other UK airport) to Spanish airport (wherever your Dad is) and then flight 2, Spain to Tenerife and flight 3, Tenerife back to UK. Your challenge is travelling out in the holiday period and travelling back at the end of the school holidays is probably "peak" prices. Lot's of others will be doing exactly the same.
Good luck.

Nah just type whatever into Momondo (or you can use skyscanner) and it'll bring up a load of them by price. Just book with them. They can either be some big name like Expedia, ebookers etc or it can be like Southall Travel or Mohammeds Cut Price Holidays.

I use kayak.com. Go to flights and select multi-city. It's usually a good bit cheaper than a series of one-ways.

firstly, I would suggest flying into Barcelona, taking in everything this city has to offer, then drive down to Madrid, and the area around such as Segovia, and then drive down to Alhambra and the other things going on down in the Moors country. Fly to Tenerife from Southern Spain, then, as has been said, a bucket airline back home
I’m really not sure what obstacles you seem to have uncovered to fly internally. There should be none whatsoever

The flights from Spain to the Canaries should be dirt cheap in August as this is out of season. Only Brits do the Canaries in Summer

Try Althams Travel. Head office in Burnley and do some sponsorship with the club as well as some business. They have a website and also a free phone number 0800 917 9997. In addition have I think 32 shops across the North West mainly and into West Yorkshire.
