Yaya Toure
Yaya Toure
Seen a report flying around today on Facebook that linked him with Everton, us and Huddersfield. Reportedly
Very settled in the north west.
Doubt it's true but what a quality player to be linked with us.

If we're going for over the hill world beaters I'd rather we brought in Fernando Torres, David Villa and Kaka.

You're has got to be one of the classiest midfielders ever. He comes on for Man City and dominates for 10 to 15 mins. Ball sticks to his foot and goes where he wants it!

I suggested Shakiri and was laughed down - like I was with Charlie Taylor and Chris Wood. So you never know!Pstotto wrote:Joe Allen or Shakiri maybe?

I'd have Shakiri here, damn right.

I think Burnley will sign someone from a relegated side, just not sure who.

Re: Yaya Toure
I'm actually looking forward to this summer transfers. We've certainly never been in a better position with regards to the transfer market as it is today. We have the pick of so many players - we can offer european football - we have Sean Dyche as our manager - it's brilliant!Pstotto wrote:I think Burnley will sign someone from a relegated side, just not sure who.
Re: Yaya Toure
I also think getting into Europe will definitely be the carrot to keep Dyche here for a while yet.

Put him in the same category as Jon Walters. Over the hill, and injury prone.

I'm sorry but if there is a player who has the right to stroll round the pitch (which he doesn't) it would be him. Sheer quality he possesses or would you prefer Marney over him?MT03ALG wrote:Yaya is past it and would cost too much to stroll round the pitch letting others do the work...

Re: Yaya Toure
I watched a video of him in training this week, he most certainly isn't past it. His ball retention and passing is second to none. I doubt we can afford him though !
Re: Yaya Toure
Ball sticks yo his foot. He makes and receives in short passes and moves around the pitch in total control. Bursts forward and shoots if he has to! Incredible player.

Re: Yaya Toure
Things have come on leaps and bounds since the days of Mark Yates that we are discussing whether YAYA Toure could do a job for us !! IMO if he his true to his word and he just wants to play and his demands are realistic (short contract and fit in around our pay scale etc) he would be sensational in the role we ask Hendrick to play.
Re: Yaya Toure
It's not so long ago that we would have been thrilled to bits to sign yaya toure's grandma. Now we are actually discussing whether or not the man himself is good enough for us when he has just been part of a team that has run away with the premier league. Madness.

Re: Yaya Toure
Toure does not expect to cry on Wednesday, even though he admits to being emotional.
He prefers to look back with satisfaction on a job well done.
And he has one more target. He wants a goal against Brighton.
He said: "I will start shooting from the dressing room. I will do everything because it is my last game, in front of my fans, in my stadium.
"I want it to be perfect."
Does this sound like someone who is over the hill?

He's on 220k a week at man city to come to Burnley he would have to take a Massive 75% pay cut......NOT A CHANCE. He will go to wolves they will be mug enough to pay the wages he would want.

Re: Yaya Toure
His agent is Dimitri Seluk not Jorge Mendes so won't be going to Wolves. I reckon USA or China. NYCFC have a spare franchise player slot and are owned by Man City.AGENT_CLARET wrote:He's on 220k a week at man city to come to Burnley he would have to take a Massive 75% pay cut......NOT A CHANCE. The last time we were fantasisng about signing him some other posters said he was lazy. The stats around that time were he ran the 2nd highest distance in the 4 games he played.MT03ALG wrote:Yaya is past it and would cost too much to stroll round the pitch letting others do the work...
Don't be mistaken for somebody that finds the game so easy and uses the ball efficiently.
Re: Yaya Toure
Yaya is an absolute behemoth! I'd be in dreamland if we signed him - but that's the only place this will ever happen.
Let's try our best to get excited over options like McClean instead... :/

Hilarious stuff!!!!! Never mind Yaya, this is the stuff of La La Land.
Re: Yaya Toure
The guy is a machine, he's been one of the best midfielders to ever play in the PL and could do a job for any side in the league still which is why I don't see him coming here. He'll be earning near £200k, I don't see a way we'd get even close to that and he'll be in demand and will want one last payday.

On a free transfer, so even at 200k a week would be cheaper for us than Hendrick over two seasons.KRBFC wrote:The guy is a machine, he's been one of the best midfielders to ever play in the PL and could do a job for any side in the league still which is why I don't see him coming here. Re: Yaya Toure
Apparently he's stated he will pay back half of his salary to his new team if they are not satisfied with his performance. I'd be happy to turn that around and tell him he gets paid half what he wants, but gets a massive bonus when he has performed.
Re: Yaya Toure
He is on outrageous money and no doubt will want more in China and USA. He is an outstanding player who makes it look easy.
Re: Yaya Toure
As long as kiko doesnt sign for us again wel do alright
Re: Yaya Toure
Yeah but Hendrick is an asset, he holds a value, Yaya doesn't hold a transfer value on a 1 year deal. I reckon he'd fancy longer than a 1 year deal.Quickenthetempo wrote:On a free transfer, so even at 200k a week would be cheaper for us than Hendrick over two seasons.

We are what Stoke were under Pulis at the moment. I don't want us to become the current Stoke with mercenary flashes in the pan like Yaya would be, as great a player as he can be.
