Re: Morgan Freeman
I do wonder what ever happened to "Innocent until proven guilty" these days, however i do also fully understand people being taken out of the limelight while these things are investigated.
It still astounds me how long Adam Johnson played for after accusations came to light

I see he’s been looking at women in a funny way and even tried to lift a woman’s skirt after “ flirtatious talk”...a bit naughty but the mob are closing in .
While the likes of Cosby and Weinstein deserve (d)all they get, you have to wonder where this stops .Keven Spacey (repeats of 7 are looking unlikely !) has been ruined for nothing more than being a lecherous old queen .

I'm sure AlargeClaret wouldn't dream of making sneering comments on a topic he knows nothing about, so i can only assume that he thinks raping 14 year old boys isn't a big deal.

IT
As ever your bedroom based world views differ grotesquely from any actual facts . The “sexual advance “ which I presume you’re referring to ?has not even been fully investigated or even heard before a judge, never mind a jury so “ raping 14yr old boys” a touch presumptions even for your lurid fantastical 6th form debating society guff .Im sure the LA? da and co will see justice is done if and when enough evidence is brought .
While unwanted sexual advances can never ever be condoned , the facts are often lost in the mass compensation charge .There’s not an A lister out there that hasn’t fended off dozens of ( usually ) preposterous filed suits . The likes of Cruise /Travolta/Arnie et al have all feasted at “ the buffet “ though, granted often with a differing choice of prime cuts and a damn fine team of lawyers .

I have worked with him a bit, professionally. My take is that he 's got a slightly creepy air about him and I understand some of these stories, but he is no different to a pretty broad swathe of men. He is no Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby.

If some of the things I got up to in my youth came to light, they would lock me up and chuck away the key. But it wasn't just me, all the lads I knew were the same. The lasses we ' abused', if that's the right word, were our friends then, and still friends now 45 years later.
The line between the lads being lads, and real sex fiends has been seriously blurred by the media, and some, not all, attention seeking starlets. That isn't fair on anybody.
What Morgan Freeman has or hasn't done, I don't know, but he's certainly paying a price for living in the era of Weinstein and Cosby.

I think these historic claims are getting a bit tedious now to be honest. Why the hell (in many cases) are people coming forward 30/40/50 years after the fact? Because it is easier to make claims for unearned money these days methinks.
I'm just waiting for some 60 year old tart to make a claim against Mick Jagger - with the number of women he's had over the years it must happen. He once said he gave up counting at a thousand and that was about 30-odd years ago.

Re: Morgan Freeman
The only thing that will make all of this stop is when female celebrities start being the accused.
Seems to be a complete power trip going on against men at the moment, all this is going to result in is more and more sh;tty films being made with majority female casts as there's no longer a place for men in Hollywood.
Feck em.
Silly hags.
I'd be quite proud if Morgan Freeman flirted with me and I'm a straight man. Enjoy the attention you're getting, it won't last forever.

Re: Morgan Freeman
It is now seen as wrong and inappropriate (I hate that word these days - overused and PC friendly) to get a girl drunk in order to do the business. It's what we did when we were young and they seemed okay with it and even expected it to happen. I can see a time in the not too distant when people will have to sign a written consent form before they have sex. I'm so glad I'm not young and single any more, life must be very difficult socially.Colburn_Claret wrote:If some of the things I got up to in my youth came to light, they would lock me up and chuck away the key. Re: Morgan Freeman
I agree with that. But even back then, if a lass told you to **** off, you ****** off. There was nothing to stop these accusers from telling any of these fiends to **** off, apart from their personal ambition. I'm not saying it's right, just that to complain about it years later is odd. I would hope my daughter, in similar circumstances, would smack the bastards, but that's down to the way she was raised. Is starring in a film or programme really worth that shame......Devils_Advocate wrote:He isn't being accused of things he got upto over 50 years ago when he was a lad. Strange that so many people are defending him. Let's forget he's an actor and a big star, he allegedly lifted up a girls skirt and asked if she was wearing underwear AT WORK. How anyone can justify that to me is insane.
Interestingly he didn't deny allegations, he apologised for them.

More like saying he wants a slap round the face, rather than dragging it through the mud like this. What he did was crass, not criminal. As the good book says, let those without sin throw the first stone. We've all been there to varying degrees, at sometime or other, but because he's famous......

I've been in workplaces where women have comfortably grabbed my backside, and once where a woman grabbed the front.
All in the name of having a bit of a flirt and a laugh,
It always depends on the context that these things happen, but it is often considered to be very different when opposite sexes do the same sort of thing.

These sorts of accusations are not about sex but about power - the power to abuse and think they can get away with it.

I'm not sure what he's been up to, but last year my son's best friend was involved in some work that Freeman was doing in London. My son's mate Andy (who I know really well) was working on a film production and there was a meeting at the start of work with staff...Freeman was in charge I believe. Andy made contact with him (Freeman) and offered his hand and said "Hi I'm Andy, nice to meet you". To which he Freeman simply said "Should I care?"
Whilst I have loved his films thus far from that point I thought he was a completer t@sser.

Why is the word s-c-u-m considered offensive? It forms on the top of liquids and is a natural process.
Re: Morgan Freeman
If he has none nothing serious the vast majority of people will see it that way
A very small number of people will be offended. Such a small number it isn’t worth getting worked up about. However the more people getting outraged at the outrage of a very small number of people just makes things worse and gives them a voice
It’s a bit like Katie Hopkins. If people stopped feeding that troll she would soon disappear

Really!? Freeman must have been a 79-year old man at the time of this `incident`. I suspect most of us, upon reaching that age, will be slightly cantankerous buggers (if we aren`t already!) who struggle to remain civil throughout the day.turfytopper wrote:I'm not sure what he's been up to, but last year my son's best friend was involved in some work that Freeman was doing in London. Did you spend a lot of time working that through ?
So you think that the "only thing" that will stop this is that if a celebrity female starts being accused ? Is the theory based on a double negative equalling a positive ? Or have you been in the Big Window since 10am on the sauce ?
Is it just Morgan flirting with you that would make you proud....as a straight man ? How about if he went further ?- would you still be chuffed to bits ?
