Michael Keane

Post by Conroy92 » Fri May 25, 2018 4:31 pm

Would you take him back? Everton fans have given him a hard time this year, he's been relatively poor admittedly, but there's still a player in there! We need a centre half and he knows the system, cost in the region of 15mil?

Unrealistic?

I imagine his wages are far too high for us. However, I would have him back, yes. We know he's a good player. He'd come back and perform well again under Dyche, I'm sure.

They won't sell him, they need to replace Williams and Jagielka so it wouldn't make sense to sell Keane at the same time.

Difficult year for Everton and a difficult year for Keano. It seemed he wasn't going to be wanted if Allardyce had stayed but an opportunity now for him under his third Everton manager. We wouldn't be able to afford his wage now though, as IndigoLake suggests.

He was great for us and I’d have him back but I do prefer the Tarkowski and Mee partnership to the Keane and Mee one.

He'd have to take a wage cut, (poor lad).

He went to a rudderless place, that soon became a mess.
A lot of fans seeing their club fire up expectations by spending a lots of money.
I'd have him back though. Still reckon he's got the makings of an excellent long term England international.
Still feel the pride now when I think of his England debut.

Would absolutely have him back. With the exception of maybe Gary Cahill easily the best centre half I have seen for us.

Imagine a back 3 of Mee Tarks and Keane

If Mee was to leave would love Keane back. And I don't buy this you need a left footer and right footer nonsense.

Loyalty from Dyche from the Championship winning side, understandable. Keane has had a good 2 months at PL level in his entire career, i'm just not convinced he's really PL level. He's been all over the place this year, a weak link in our side last year, soon as he went we were able to win away from home. I think Everton's away form is dire this year, the Keane curse.

Wages will be too high.
They’ll want to recover at least most of the fee.
Etc

Chalk up another no vote.
Tarkowski is so much better at ball distribution, and I feel they are equal in about everything else.
Mee is definitely the unsung hero in the CB duo: Ashley williams looked completely uninterested last year which gave Keane too much work to do.

All the people saying no. Who else would you rather we bought in? Or are you happy with Mee & Tarks with long as the only back up?

Don't think anyone is actually saying no, I think people are aware that his current wage is now way beyond us.

Have you read KRBFC's post? He clearly thinks he's not good enough, I'm presuming a few of the other no's will be agreeing.

For all he’s not had a great first season with Everton, he’s been playing with some dross at centre back, he’s been playing in a different set up and likely hasn’t been afforded the protection that he would have at Burnley.

He doesn’t suddenly become a poor player.

I'm yet to see any proof he's a PL level central defender.

Wages will be the main reason you'll probably find.

It's an extremely small minority that think he's not a PL standard defender.

So for the record what's your view on two left feet? 8-)

I'd have him back. 're wages I should imagine his percentages of two multi million transfer fees would take some of the pain of a wage drop away.

I doubt he'd come. He'd be starting as a reserve, and there are two very good players in front of him.

Time to move on .signing past players in the old days worked to a certain extent.Leighton James being one Alan Stevenson and Tony Morley being two who didn't.
But we're richer now and need to build for a long stay in the Premier league

Stay at Everton on current salary and don't play for England or come back to Burnley on less money and play regularly for your country?

Where do you stand, Mr Legohead man?

Sounds about right! The name originates from my old Xbox 360 account. There was some sort of username randomiser. I had a lot of free time and spent a good while cycling through options and then IndigoLake came up. There was an air of je ne sais quoi about it.

Anyway, I looked it up online and apparently there is a lake called Indigo Lake in Ohio, USA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo_Lake_(Ohio" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

There's also one in Alaska: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo_Lake_(Alaska" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

(Not that you asked, haha).
