Red and yellow stripe away kit
Red and yellow stripe away kit
This could be a bit controversial but what do folk think of every Lancashire club playing in the same away kit? IE the same colours as the Lancs flag, just changing the badge? Different I know but if every team wore red and yellow stripes it would be instantly identifiable with Lancashire? Basque teams all carry the Basque flag on their shirts, not quite the same but still a statement. Maybe just change the colour of he shorts like Claret for us, Blue for BB, White for knobbers etc

Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
I personally think we should play in Claret and Blue every game except WHU away thats the only time we have a colour clash. This having multiple kits like Manure is only a money making exercise

Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
There are Lancashire teams and there is Burnley.
Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
That's a fair few league clubs changing their strip.
In the proper county of Lancashire you've got (off top of my head) :
Burnley
Blackburn
Preston
Blackpool
Wigan
Bury
Liverpool
Everton
Fleetwood
Morecambe
Manchester City
Manchester United
Oldham
Rochdale
Bolton

Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
Usually see the Lancashire flag flying outside Manchester Piccadilly station.
Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
Did you really just suggest a red and yellow striped shirt with claret shorts??

A gerrymandering decision by Ted Heaths government in ‘74. Lancashire will always be Lancashire.ClaretAndJew wrote:But they are not in Lancashire any more, it changed, you can't change facts.

Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
Then why do these places suggest they are in Merseyside and Greater Manchester respectively?piston broke wrote:A gerrymandering decision by Ted Heaths government in ‘74. Lancashire will always be Lancashire.

Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
I don’t get your point. They are political entities created to give the tories a chance of winning Lancashire, which they could never do under the old county boundaries. Lancashire still play cricket at Old Trafford and Southport and are followed by both Mancs and Scousers.ClaretAndJew wrote:Then why do these places suggest they are in Merseyside and Greater Manchester respectively?
I guess you are too young to remember what a great county Lancashire was?

Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
The yellow is the Palatine colour - signifying that its HM the Queen, the Duke of Lancaster's county. (Lancaster crest has the two lions asper our previous badge design)
Re: Red and yellow stripe away kit
Not including Manchester/ Liverpool clubs, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury and Wigan in Lancashire. Is just like omitting Blackburn based on they opted out of LCC to be independent. Lancashire also included the Lake District did it not? What a great county Lancashire really is. Living over the border in Yorkshire you get a very strong feeling of pride of being a Yorkshire man. I'm not sure as a Lancastrian born and bred we show the same pride. I enjoy the debates with the Yorkies about the best county, they also don't class Manchester and Liverpool as Lancashire I wonder why hahaha. They even claim the war of the Roses was a draw.
