Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
I wouldn't feel too despondent if you don't have a Clarets Number or not many points.
I work with a few Liverpool fans who have never had a season ticket but they've travelled to a number of their big European away games (Barcelona, Roma etc) in recent years and have always managed to get hold of tickets from other Liverpool fans whilst they were there

I'll be one of the happily doolally fewSpijed wrote:The bottom line is that there will be plenty of unsold seats due to the cost of travel, hotels and sorting out the logistics.
Few in their right minds will stump up hundreds if not at least a grand to see us play in some European backwater in the early rounds.

You just have sign up on the ticketing/shop system online and you get a Claret’s number auto-generated? Or has it changed now?diamondpocket wrote:Does anybody have an answer as to how us exiles can get a Clarets Number then?

By purchasing tickets. If you don't have a Clarets Number you will have one set up at the time of purchase.diamondpocket wrote:Does anybody have an answer as to how us exiles can get a Clarets Number then?
Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
If they really are imposing these rules as strictly as suggested it seems likely there won't be any children at all in the away end for these matches which will be unusual.
Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
It’s hard to judge how difficult it will be at this stage. It will depend on where abouts we play and easy it is to get to.
Getting tickets is not my priority. Watch the draw. Get travel/hotel sorted and see what happens. The worst what could happen is we have a laugh with loads of other clarets in a weird, wonderfull town in the middle of nowhere.

Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
We've had a loyalty scheme for over 10 years now, every season we have the same debate, around at most 3 matches. Last season was Huddersfield Man Utd and Arsenal. Same old arguments come up about changes. For so few matches though it's not worth changing. I've broken through 8000 points now, I still missed out on Huddersfield tickets. Oh well, I did get Arsenal tickets though. I think the supplying tickets to others is a fairly small %, the loyalty scheme works pretty well on the whole.

Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
Its an absolutely awful system for young fans. I am 17, have had a season tickets for years and go to most away games for years but still only have around 3000 points. To the bigger away games I constantly have to borrow someone elses number and subsequently I don't get the points allocated for having the dedication to go to such games. Worry I will struggle to get tickets for European games but alas I shall be flying out anyway...Dy1geo wrote:Carry on the way it is but leave 10-20% of allocation to first come first served or a ballot.
How do 18 year olds qualify for away tickets for the bigger games in their own names if all they have ever been to home games with their parents and haven’t accumulated enough points.
Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
My nephew is 16. He has had a season ticket since he was 7. He goes to around half of our away games every season and currently has approx. 5,500 loyalty points.ClaretPuddle wrote:Its an absolutely awful system for young fans. So it is possible to accumulate a larger number of loyalty points even if you are a younger fan.
But I agree that the points system might benefit from a slight tweek here and there.
Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
I don't have any ideas for a new system but whatever it is should it happen there will always be some people who miss out on certain games. As above, a fan with over 8k points still didn't get one for Huddersfield.
During a successful period there's bound to be times where demand is higher than allocation. If that effects me getting a ticket I'll be disappointed but I wouldnt moan about it.

Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
Why don't we have an away season ticket like other clubs do
Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
Why dont we tell our fans how many tickets we have been allocated for each away game like other clubs do?Grumps wrote:Why don't we have an away season ticket like other clubs do
Does anyone know if the club responded to any of the fan groups regarding the ticket fiasco for the Arsenal away game, or announcing actual ticket allocations.
Or will this still be top secret again next season?
Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
We knew how many we had at Huddersfield and utd but some people still seemed to struggle, a season ticket which guaranteed all away games would help the regulars, those who pick the odd game would have to leave it to chance, quite rightly
Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
To be fair last season was one of our most successful for years and by my reckoning there was only United, Huddersfield and Arsenal that was a mad scramble for tickets, and Arsenal was the fault of our own club. Everton didn't sell out, Liverpool and Spurs at Wembley only sold out very late. Plenty of chances for people to get to away games. Not sure why some people think they have a right to cherry pick the more glamorous games like United away without putting in the time and effort to amass some points?
Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
The European adventure may be further complicated with getting hold of flights. When tickets go on sale there will only be a limited number of plane seats so not everyone who gets a ticket is guaranteed to get a flight.
Will supporters therefore be left with tickets and no access to transport?
On the flip side you might risk booking an early flight to reduce costs but end up ticketless.
And then there is the lottery of hotels.
Where are the supporters clubs and the coaches when you need them?

Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
There's always a way! Europe generally has an excellent train system, if you have to fly elsewhere then get a train for 2 or 3 hours it's not the end of the world is it? All adds to the fun of the adventure!Spijed wrote:The European adventure may be further complicated with getting hold of flights. Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
The club may put on a travel option where you buy a package or flight and ticket or alternatively companies like Sport Options may put travel on.
I have friends who use them for day trips with Man City where you fly out at 4am, when you land you get a coach to the City centre of wherever you’re playing and then you make your own way to the stadium and get picked up outside the ground and taken back to the airport after the match.
It isn’t cheap, usually around £200-300 but nice and easy.

Not sure I'd trust anyone else with my travel arrangements after the bother some Liverpool fans had getting to Kiev! That was with a well known, established company as well.1989_claret wrote:The club may put on a travel option where you buy a package or flight and ticket or alternatively companies like Sport Options may put travel on.

Has anyone one managed to work out the farthest team we could possibly travel to for the away leg?

Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
Don’t think the same would happen to a plane for a Burnley Europa League game unless something extraordonary was taking place at the destination which meant demand for travel there was high.

I’ve travelled with Sport Ops for England matches for the day trips and they have always been run well.
Only problem is starting to drink at 4am for 10pm kick off

Is it mainly coach and ferry travel?

Those who voted ‘leave’ cannot expect to receive any tickets whatsoever. Only those who voted ‘remain’ need apply.

Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
Have been to Champions league games in Germany and the UK, and never had to do anything like this. Have been to Uefa cup games in England and Ireland and have not had to do anything like this. Have got ballot tickets for 2 Uefa cup finals, and not been able to attend either, and was able to give tickets away without having to go through a name check process. Club games in Italy are the only places where a name change on the tickets has had to be done, but as long as you have ID they will change the name for you.
I suspect people above are right, if you want a ticket, you'll get one. Bring on the road trip to Kairat in the 2nd round - just the 7,531 kilometres - takes 91 hours apparently. Or you can fly - 2 stops, £800.

I think it's Kairat in Kazakhstan if they get through the first round, but haven't checked Champions league qualifiers. It's basically Kazakhstan / Krgystan / China border.

Re: Europa Tickets for Exiles
PS - if you're looking for directions, it's left off the Eurostar, through France, into Belgium, through Holland, all the way across Germany, into Belarus, across Belarus, into Russia, follow signs for Moscow. Turn right at Moscow, through southern Russia, into Kazakhstan, follow signs for Atobe, turn right, follow signs for Tashkent, and after about 1,700 KM turn left towards Shymkent, stay on this road for another 2 days, and Kairat will be on your right.
PS - Signs from Belarus onwards might not be in letters and symbols that we understand..... apart from Enola Gay - so get him in your car if you're going.

Can’t remember the price as it has been a while since I went with them but £250 for a day possibly. Was usually flights, coach transfers to the city, then pick up outside the grounds and straight back to the airport.Spijed wrote:What are the range of prices for England trips?
