This year's Jezfest
Whoever thought that because Corbyn had a brief moment in the sun at Glastonbury, they should have a whole bloody festival around him, needs to give their heads a wobble!
It's like me watching a plumber for 5 minutes and thinking I could do that.

Reports say the whole catastrophe is going to cost the Liebour Party millions! Every cloud!
Mind you. A festival where John McDonald and Owen Jones are the headline acts is never gonna be box office for most normal folk.
I look forward to seeing footage of imploding turtles head/ uphisownhole down at the front looking up, and mouthing back their heroes greatest hits. After all, they know all words!

Yawn.
Just give the political point scoring a rest for one bloody minute.
I've said on another thread that you're "just as bad" as IT or UTB but I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that you two are the biggest cancer on this board.

Her agent had negotiated a deal. "Diane, 50 grand, for a 10 minute spot. What do you say?
Her response-
"15 quid for 3 hours. Take it or leave it!"......

Without wishing to offer any encouragement for Wrongo (see, we can all play that game) to continue his juvenile ramblings I have to agree that whoever conceived this idea needs to be sent to rehab for a while. Preaching to the choir while inviting ridicule from everyone else hardly seems like the path to electoral success.
Still, it's definitely not a cult though. No way. Not a cult.

What is JezFest? I know you're taking mick out of it but is it a music festival with political speakers?

I think it's known within the cult as Labour Live. But, yes - it's basically a music fesival with a liberal sprinkling of Corbynista cheerleading.Quickenthetempo wrote:What is JezFest? I know you're taking mick out of it but is it a music festival with political speakers?

I might book a ticket just because they have Eddie Izzard on. It's so modern and forward thinking and it adds so much credibility to the party. Desperate times for the socialist desperados.

A non-gender specific, politically correct, car crash, with a diverse range of injuries, I hope.

Given the amount of money they'll be sp*nking away, perhaps they might want to rebrand it "Jizfest"

Re: This year's Jezfest
I voted Labour last year, and like Corbyn, but this is a bad idea. The momentum Corbyn generated and 'Corbynmania' for lack of a better word was an organic phenomenon that made sense within the context of the election and the campaign trail. Trying to recreate it by cobbling together a music-politics festival is just going to underwhelm for me, although nothing ventured nothing gained I guess. If it flops I can't see it being too much more than a minor embarrassment.

Re: This year's Jezfest
A flop. But a million pound flop. Owch!
Re: This year's Jezfest
Toryfest would be a blast!!
Loads of racist pensioners. Headline acts Chas n Dave, bit of stand up from racist, big head Jim Davidson. Maybe bring back Ted Heath and Jimmy Savile from the dead, to appeal to the youth in the audience. They'd need a rest from pushing their clients wheelchairs.
Jacob Rees Mogg could rally the troops with one of his anti abortion speaches!! The fact that he is involved in a company that makes money is irrelevant so long as he makes a few bob.
The ex Eton tent would be a blast!! Just don't try the hog roast as it could be a bit salty!!

Does anyone know if "Labour Live" is being live streamed?
Isn't that how new technology is supposed to be used these days?
I think we can file this one under "For the few, not the many."

Politics and entertainment, even "right-on" entertainment, will never mix successfully. We either take our politics seriously or we are seeking entertainment.

Re: This year's Jezfest
I'm no Corbyn fan,but i'm ambivalent towards this event,i don't understand who Labour are aiming this festival at,when the reporter was on Sky News earlier,he stated that many young people/students,public sector employees and middle-class attendees were there but hardly any traditional working-class Labour voters, another mistake was hosting the gig in North London i know it's Corbyn's home-turf but already many Northern English voters feel Labour is too London-centric.SammyBoy wrote:I voted Labour last year, and like Corbyn, but this is a bad idea.
