Just seen a replay of the Denmark fans celebrating the goal. A beautiful slow motion shot of beer flying everywhere.

Denmark living on the edge and then Erikson could have sealed it there.

Nigeria offside... VAR doesnt come in as they dont score. But get a corner from which they could score.

Last mention from me of this mockery of a system. Done nothing to improve the game.

they should be dressed in a bernie cliftonesque ostrich costume.

that would at least add to the bonkersness of it.

Without VAR then:

The offside still wouldn't have been given, the corner would, again, still have happened and they would still have scored.

The fact that you or I can pick the rules of the game apart at will is enough evidence that this system is essential.

The previous games today have been really good and the Peru Denmark game in particular, where I did feel pretty sorry for Peru who should have got something, but this last one is rather dull!!

This is the 8th game so 4 penalties scored and 2 missed making it 6 in 8 games.

Yes, Messi and what's-his-name from Peru both missed pens today. So that sounds about right.

I think that's a fair ratio of pens to games. Far too much let go in the English game.

Well that's certainly true for Burnley. That we weren't given a pen last season is a travesty I tell you, a travesty!

As a defensive team winning by the odd goal we won't create many chances to get penalties.

A TRAVESTY.

In all seriousness, I agree with you. However, I still think there were a few that would have been given to the top 6 sides.

Leaked England Team for Monday.

Post by Diesel » Sat Jun 16, 2018 10:23 pm

See title thread ♤♤♤♤♤

...................................pickford..................................

........Walker.................Stones........Maguire.............

Trippier.........Henderson........Alli..............Young....

................Lingard........Kane............Sterling............

My thoughts:

Weak down the left, heavily reliant on Trippier's supply down the right, if I can see it then I'm sure Tunisia's manager can.c

Only weaknesses being Pickford doesn't dominate his area like Nick but he is a shotstopper and good with his feet and Young who has spent the majority of his career on the left wing but has now discovered he can't beat his man on the outside and cross with his left foot.
But it'll be allreyt ont'nite.

We will win. But Young offers nothing offensively or defensively that Rose doesnt.

Also. Play your best players in their best positions IMO. Walker is a better wing back than trpps. Play one or the other. Not shoe horn one in to accomodate the other. Thats obviously why Arnolds gone though.
