2 saves from Pickford weren't bad either the rocket from half way and their last penalty

Gets another pop at beating Lineker’s tally in ‘86.
Hope he busts it wide open.

Couldn’t understand why Vardy didn’t take a pen before Trips and Dier unless he bottled it?

You need to use the appropriate emoji, otherwise someone will think you're joking.

won't be long until Madrid or Barca throw a load of cash at Levy. Best English striker since Shearer for sure

Still, all’s well that ends well.
Re: Harry Kane
Very important captains role as well.
Re: Harry Kane
Kane and Maguire's performance were out of the very top drawer tonight.
Physicality dropped in the last hour of the game but we're through and that's what counts.

Got fouled more than Ash, almost as many goals scored in 3 games as Ash scored all season! And I love Mr Barnes' play!gtclaret wrote:Ash is better

I'd go as far as to say they are literally terrorists.Imploding Turtle wrote:People who use emojis to denote humour are basically terrorists.
I know from personal experience, not using emojis has meant my more nuanced comments have been misconstrued, but I find the very idea of emojis abhorrent.

Re: Harry Kane
An absolutely superb performance from the skipper. We really need him to be doing that further up the pitch though which means others need to be dropping deeper to receive the ball.
Maguire was immense too which was great to see.
I hope I don't see Sterling or Ali start another match in this tournament though. They've had enough chances and offered practically zero in my opinion.

Re: Harry Kane
It's not just his football ability. He's 24... 24! Yet comes across as somebody with the brain of somebody 44. Notice during the game he calmed things down. No temper. Nothing like that. He walked to the referee, calmed things down and made other England players not get worked up.
Tremendous.
Tremendous.

Re: Harry Kane
I said that he'd miss his penalty in the shoot out. No danger of that in the end.
We know about his scoring, but when he's got his back to goal he shields the ball as good as anyone I've seen.

Re: Harry Kane
I’m not his biggest fan (I think he can be very one dimensional), but he was absolutely excellent tonight, and his game seems to have developed in the last 12 months. He’s now a better version of Shearer in the area, with the added bonus of being an excellent link player when he drops deep. Roll on Saturday...

Agree. There is not enough creativity in the midfield to supply Kane or Lingard, or when he came on Vardy. I'd be looking at Loftus-Cheek for Ali and Rashford for Sterling

Re: Harry Kane
I said on the match thread, hes the only player we have with a football brain, as well as talent. Without that brain you underperform, as so many of his team mates did tonight

Re: Harry Kane
Bit like Sheringham in that regard. Not that Kane's slow but Sheringham made up for things like a lack fo pace with just being smarter than the defenders he faced, and composed enough to score when his football intelligence gets him infront of goal with the ball. Without being a poacher.Colburn_Claret wrote:I said on the match thread, hes the only player we have with a football brain, as well as talent. Re: Harry Kane
As I said in the game thread last night, I really admire Kane. Only 24, lots of pressure but he's ice cold when it counts.
Re: Harry Kane
Not that impressed TBH. He has scored 3 tap ins my gran would have put away. Seems very leggy to me and didn't last the full game last night by a long way.
