Always been overrated, has Sterling.
Does something good in a couple of dozen plus attempts and he's on his media's love-in again.

I don't understand why you lot hate Sterling so much. The guy's a class player lacking confidence and you lot just continue to **** on him over and over again.

Apart from his speed I have never seen a less natural footballer than Stirling.... even the simple decisions don't enter his non-football brain until its far far too late.

He's one of our most important players. Had an excellent half (apart from the finishing of course). Alli seems drained of confidence however.

Lacking confidence?? He’s just had a record breaking season at city. Whilst Spurs trophy cabinet remains empty. What about poor Kane?!

I'm sure if he played for Burnley the naysayers would all think he should win the ballon d'or.

He’s been best player on the pitch this first half. Sweden don’t know whether to follow him into the hole or stay in position. Good save by the keeper when one on one then Kane (who must’ve touched the ball 3 times) closed the space down making a pass to him impossible. Him and Lingard tearing them a new one

I don’t hate him, I rate him - when he plays as he can, instead of how he thinks he looks in his head. His head isn’t right for his country, but for his club - it’s his bread and butter. I want him to play with the freedom of mind he has for City.

How can people bash Sterling when he’s the only one doing anything. Nothing from Alli and Lingard. All of you are clueless.

Sterling has and always does miss gilt-edged chances - therefore `criticism`. Alli has again been ponderous and ineffectual. Lingard ummmmmmmm...

We certainly don`t need all 3 of `em on the pitch. Alli off, Loftus-C

Sterling has now had 4.5 matches and hasn't scored or created. At this level that is just not good enough. Fine club player, not an international.
Rashford on now for me, he can run defenders just as well as Sterling but he finishes.

I see Vardy was sat on the bench in his civvies.

Wow. Half time in a QF which we are winning and this thread has turned into criticising our players.

Sweden are there for the taking - they've offered nothing yet.

Special mention for the ref, so far he’s not taken any backchat and stopped the players from both sides complaining - it’s been good for the game

if Sterling didn't have pace he wouldn't be anywhere near the Premier League, if Sterling had composure he would be playing for Barcelona. Delicate balance and he's still young but he needs serious help on slowing his mind down
