Fairly poor how a team far older than us who have gone to extra time in their last two games look miles fitter than we do.

Hopefully Croatia go on to lift the cup now.

Would be first time winners for first time since France in 1998.

Better midfielders back in the UK and in the squad. We flattered to deceive. However we did better than we thought we would.

One shot on goal (presumably KTs goal in 5th min)? Is it too early to criticise Harry “The Invisible Man” Kane?

Deserved loss but I'm not actually that disappointed. There will be a great deal of revisionism from certain faux fans who will now criticise everyone and everything to do with the England setup (ohhh dem salty tears). But in reality no sane person expected England to get to the semi-final this tournament. They certainly exceeded my expectations. Some way to go but I'm pleased with our efforts this tournament. In no way have we embarrassed ourselves :)

Croatia were better today. England dominated the first half but from kick off second half it was all Croatia. They deserved it.

Bodes well for the future of the England team though, given how you d the squad is. Every one of them should hold their head up high.

Couldn't get excited from the off about the all shebang, they has to be seismic change from the top clubs to nurture homegrown talent instead of getting the cheque book out that's the only way to be a major force on a global scale.

There are some real belmtards on this thread. We got beat by a technically superior team, there’s no shame in that. What is a shame is the way that the media (the studio on ITV) have already started looking for “where it went wrong” - it didn’t, it went well, really well, but we got beat.

Shame for England, but after a promising start they let Croatia into the game and - from a neutral point of view - I must admit that in the end Croatia deserved their victory. Modric was immense in the second half, Perisic was a ream menace and in the end Mandzucic showed why he is a top forward.

Also, no French time wasting like yesterday.

There's a potential pattern.

Euro 2016

Wales lose to Portugal - Portugal beat France in final

World Cup 2018

England lose to Croatia - Croatia will beat France in the Final.

No sour grapes but they are the poorest team to make a World Cup final.

It is a fact that never again will England have a kinder draw in a World Cup, where we didn't face a team higher than us in the FIFA rankings in a meaningful match throughout the tournament. We lost to Belgium in a game that was a non event. England can only beat the teams that they are drawn against but this team is being elevated to a level that they have not yet reached.

Croatia looked dreadful for the first 35 minutes and if they play like that against France they will get buried.
