He's fair and impartial. Always has been. Good pundit.

Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
Was very fair in his pre match comments about us.
Not quite on the prick list tonight.

Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
I always think he's fair, apart from saying that that wasn't a penalty tonight - I've always agreed with him. Bit of a dick though isn't he, know's how to rub people up the wrong way - bit of a Robbie Savage type in some respects.

Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
Best bit of the punditry was when Sutton and Hartson both seemed to agree that it was never a penalty, which I can agree on, however they were talking like it mattered....we scored anyway, so made zero difference, if anything it gave Aberdeen more of a chance.

Giving it back on his Twitter
Thanks to Burnley supporters for all the kind words tonight....thoroughly enjoyed being back in the North West where I had lovely memories of winning the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers

Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
Got a fair load of abuse when he walked (very closely) alongside the Bob Lord Stand before kick off......rather funny that John Hartson following behind him leant in to the crowd saying "F**kin give it to him!"

Once sat with john hartson on the turf many years ago in a league game against wrexham. He was playing for west ham at ewood the next day. Had come to the game because he said he had a soft spot for Burnley through his father in law.claret10 wrote:Got a fair load of abuse when he walked (very closely) alongside the Bob Lord Stand before kick off......rather funny that John Hartson following behind him leant in to the crowd saying "F**kin give it to him!"
Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
A complete kn*b like Sherwood.
Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
The problem Hartson had with the penalty is that he didn't know the rule. He kept saying that the defender hadn't time to get his arm out of the way - we all know that. The referee know that. The reason it was given is that in the ref's opinion his arm was in an "unnatural position" - in other words, it shouldn't have been in the way in the first place.
He could validly argue against the penalty on the grounds that the arm was near enough to by his side, if he wanted. But to argue that he couldn't get out of the way, that's a nonsense argument.

People get amazing amounts of money for being thick in the public eye I don't get it at all.Wile E Coyote wrote:sutton is a well paid buffoon, BBC going for the Talk sport thickheads, useless, as a pundit, thoroughly stupid.
Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
You have to understand, that Sutton's primus operandi is Celtic. Anything he can do to help open the door for Celtic to sign the best players in the Scottish leagues he'll do. If that's flat out denying McKenna was at fault, he'll do it. Watch BT in future, it's all there... (regardless of the fact Celtic can't afford McKenna)Hedontplayforyou wrote:Best bit of the punditry was when Sutton and Hartson both seemed to agree that it was never a penalty, which I can agree on, however they were talking like it mattered....we scored anyway, so made zero difference, if anything it gave Aberdeen more of a chance.

Because most of them are not thick. The only thing thick about them compared with posters on here incliuding me is the thickness of their wage packettim_noone wrote:People get amazing amounts of money for being thick in the public eye I don't get it at all.

Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
He suprisingly said a few positive things about us. I didn't believe the sincerity because of his track record of mouthing rubbish but last night he was nowhere near as bad as in previous games.

Well something has changed since then. He was a tit in a game last season and last night he was just as bad.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Once sat with john hartson on the turf many years ago in a league game against wrexham. It's funny too... they're all crying into their milk about our penalty... they don't realise that had we not got it, we'd scored a goal anyway.

Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
Not true. If you watch the replay, you'll see that the ref blows immediately and the Aberdeen players stop before the ball is kicked into the goals.starting_11 wrote:they don't realise that had we not got it, we'd scored a goal anyway.
It might have gone in anyway, but we'll never know.

He signed my pie wrapper, back in the day when they were in paper bags!

Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
Quite like him on 5Live to be honest...makes me laugh. He knows he is fulfilling a role being the cantankerous `pundit` and he does it brilliantly. Also talks a lot of sense quite a lot of the time. He`s a hypocrite, of course he is, like the rest of `em, but at least he doesn`t appear to be a sycophant unlike Nevin, Kilbane and their ilk. He`ll always be a b*****d though!!!!

It must really gall you that he gets paid to do it on telly and radio, and you are doing it on here pro bono.Wile E Coyote wrote:sutton is a well paid buffoon, BBC going for the Talk sport thickheads, useless, as a pundit, thoroughly stupid.

Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
I watched the game back last night when I got home. Hartson and Sutton struggled to put a sentence together. Most of what they said was cliche interspersed with incoherent babble.
Re: Just a quick word on Chris Sutton
He's always on the wind up. A total prick but makes it fun sometimes . Him and Stephen Craigan are do the Scottish games on BT Sport and are always arguing. Here's Craigan taking him out: https://youtu.be/dQucykk8AS8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
