Dyche said in his pre Man Utd conference that he sees no reason why he shouldn't play him against Man Utd - we'll see

Say what you want, he looked ready last night and probably our best player. Get him in the side now, he showed no nerves and played above his years. He gave the ball away once, but the more experienced players around him gave it away many more times. If you are good enough you are old enough.

Thought he had a great debut, pace, accuracy and a good delivery on dead balls. It wasn't faultless but still very encouraging to see an eighteen year old play like that. Unlike most posters I think he will recover quickly being so young and could feature on Sunday.

Hi mate. My post needed more clarity! It was a dig at ablueclaret, who had a one man campaign to play Tarky in centre mid, much to the amusement of the rest of the message board.
In my defence, I'd just woken up!

I think it's more about lasting longer on the pitch. He did 75 minutes, so he's not far off.

As witnessed and confirmed on here by others in Block 3, he was serious and loud in his assessment of McNeil and others, with quite a few kids around too, I couldn't believe it in the words of Victor Meldrew!

Every club has a share of whoppers but we seem to have a larger share than most
Not just the club but the town. I receive about 30 calls a day with my business split between Darwen, Blackburn, Clitheroe, Accrington and Burnley.

Without doubt the enquiries from Burnley are the most dense.

To summarise the calls I receive ...

Clitheroe - Loads of eccentrics. In fact the most with some kind of mental disorder. Also people with faux posh accents that are extremely rude!

Blackburn (or Nelson) - Most calls I get are from Asians wanting the work done today and for peanuts.

Accrington (or Darwen) - The most normal of all enquiries I get.

Burnley - 90% of calls I get are from absolute window lickers. The other 10% are 'character's'.

The Facebook enquiries I get from Burnley customers are on another level and I normally just ban them as soon as I see their photo which tells me everything.

By the way ... I've lived in Clitheroe, Burnley and Accrington so have no axe to grind but it just fascinates me how certain towns have there own kind of culture.

Without Defour, Brady and Gudmundsson, McNeil is next best delivered of a ball into the box.

I would love this lad to be thrown in at the deep end today. He can't do any worse than JBG, who as not yet got going this season

I just don;t see Dyche putting him straight in the firing line, just isn't his style. I agree though he certainly didn't look out of place against Olympiacos.

Injuries are forcing him into the team earlier but he's got a great chance to establish himself now. The most impressive thing about him for his age was how he reacted to his early loss of possession on Thursday in a very big game.

Shows great confidence in himself that he just moved on and didn't hide from the ball.

I would start him in front of Lennon based on Lennons form this year. However we are down to the bare bones for wide men and can see both featuring today. Be interesting to see how we line up today

Injuries could actually turn out to be a good thing, in this respect. You only have to look at the Mee instance when he was at left back and then pushed central.

The risk is that McNeil starts and has a bad game. Then people will be saying he shouldn't have started and was pushed in too soon. You know what some folk are like.
