Duran Duran
For those who like their music, what's your favourite song(s) of theirs?
I've always liked Ordinary World, but found myself listening to Come Undone recently.

Re: Duran Duran
I'm with you Frank, but recently I was given a copy of the Liberty album on vinyl, and it's a great listen from first to last.
Big Thing is their best album as far as I'm concerned though.

Re: Duran Duran
Saw them a few years ago in Antwerp. Still a surprisingly good live band, although the greatest songs still date from the eighties

I have a 12" vinyl demo version of Planet Earth in my record collection, still dig it out now and again and give it a spin.

Re: Duran Duran
Save a Prayer was good but Rio was the one where I realised just what a bloody good bass player John Taylor was, the instrumental break in the middle is just sublime. I was in a band professionally at the time and we had an amazing bass player and I asked his opinion of him and he just said 'brilliant'.
What made it worse was he was stunningly good looking as well. Lucky barsteward.

Re: Duran Duran
I had a night out in Earls Court back in the early 90s. One of the lads with us was Simon Le Bon. He's a nice bloke. We were sat at the bar in a club chatting and Boy George turned up so I was introduced to him as well as Steve Strange.
Great night out!

Re: Duran Duran
A guy I knew had a mate who was good friends with SLB, he was even part of the crew when his yatch Drum capsized.
Right time right place really.
Better than those though was a full night at a bar in Puerto Banus. Just me and Phil Lynott. That was heavy!

Should never have left Barbarella.
Re: Duran Duran
Phil Lynott's 'go to' man came from Burnley. Lived up Manchester Road way I believe.Jel wrote:A guy I knew had a mate who was good friends with SLB, he was even part of the crew when his yatch Drum capsized.
