Please complete this survey- A Level project
Hi all,
Attached below is a survey on Google Forms looking at globalisation and the Premier League.
I would greatly appreciate it if any of you could please take the time to fill it out. It is 23 questions long and should take no more than 5 minutes.
I am conducting an A Level project which will hopefully answer the question of- “To what extent has globalisation changed Premier League football?”.
Any responses would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
George

Done. Just some feedback, it’s worth considering allowing multiple responses to some questions. For example, ‘which channel do you use’ would normally be multiple.
Also, you may get more useful responses if in some instances you don’t ask ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions but ask ‘to what extent’.
Good luck.

This is my son who is running the survey, please fill it in and help him, the young man regularly organises 6 aside football matches, he’s responsible for all his mates booking on accy Clarets, and he went on his own too Istanbul and Athens, to say I’m proud of the young man is a understatement

Some of those questions needs answers with context - for example TV game affecting attendances - If we were playing Brighton on a Monday night, yes it does, playing a team in the top 4, I don't think it does affect the gate.

Cheers for all the people who have responded so far.
Also thanks for all the suggestions as, rather than changing the survey now, the advice will be really great for the evaluation section of my project so it’s a massive help thanks.

Re: Please complete this survey- A Level project
Hi ClaretPuddle, I've completed your survey.
Some of my thoughts:
Questions don't ask any question about where you live - in relation to where the team you support are based. This can effect the response to questions relating to attending games and/or how you view.
Also, be intersting to think about fans that have to travel abroad for work - and whether they take the opportunity to watch Premier League games in the countries they are visiting. That's an example of globalisation from two aspects: (i) it means more people travel abroad for work and (ii) it means Premier Leagues (among games from other leagues) are shown in many other countries.
A question that's going around at the moment - should teams play some of their league games in another country. The Premier League suggested there could be a 39th game some seasons back. I think Spain is discussing taking normal league games to USA at present. And, of course, it will happen for other sports with NFL bringing a few games to Wembley/London.
"Compare and contrast" comments in your project will always gain you extra marks.
Good luck

Thank you very much. The advice will really help in my evaluation section of the coursework where I have to basically provide areas of improvement. Cheers for taking the time to do the survey!Paul Waine wrote:Hi ClaretPuddle, I've completed your survey.

Re: Please complete this survey- A Level project
I'd agree with that, there needs to be more 'open-ended' questions to allow for more accuracy. Closed questions with yes or no answers don't always do the job. Happy to have done it though.PWBFC wrote:Done. Just some feedback, it’s worth considering allowing multiple responses to some questions. That's the only one that got me thinking seriously but in the end I went for JBG because he is a cut above and gives his all most of the time. It could easily have been others.boatshed bill wrote:Done it.

Done, I didn't realise how indifferent I have become to televised football.
Oh! and I don't have favourite players as such - I'm a bit old for that (my last favourite was probably Dave Thomas!!) - but look for consistent performances and character.
