So now we haven't got any cup distractions,surely the fans can expect an upturn in league form,from now until the FA Cup impinges on our priority of Premier League survival ,we play 15 league games even a point a game would give us about 20 points by the time Auld Lang Syne rings out.

The time for excuses is over we need to pick up points regularly,we have a fully fit squad apart from Robbie,and until December a very light schedule,3 games in October and 3 games in November.

To be fair, United were there for the taking had our players been up for it. Brighton showed everyone that.

United are a team full of very good players. If we play them 10 times it's very likely we would lose 8 or 9 of them. Players can be as "up for it" as possible but it doesn't make them better than the United players - if they perform then we will probably lose.

I know what you are saying, in a way. It was probably a better time to play them but you could say the same about our current form too? We were our creative players short (Defour/Brady would have given us a better chance) so it was still going to be a huge ask to beat them.
