Post by Narwhalchomper » Sun Sep 30, 2018 10:02 pm

Has anyone got any news on the tarkowski injury? During the game he seemed to go down with a shoulder problem but then dyche said in his post match interview that it was to do with his groin??

Perhaps need to be getting Dunne back from Hearts.

i'm assuming that we can't do that. Why did we let this genuine prospect leave, even on loan?
It wouldn't surprise me if he'd prefer Hearts to Burnley long term.

Hindsight is wonderful,at the time of Jimmy's loan move we had 4 fit CB'S,and his chances of any action were slim, you might expect one injury in this position but not two.

By all accounts Jimmy is thriving North of the border so leave him be.

I suspect we won’t know the full story and will be fed with the usual it’s a tweak then silence.

Hopefully he’s fitter sooner rather than later as Mee is woefully out of form and needs swapping with Long IMO.

Fully agree Vegas. Long has been excellent just about every game he’s played for the past 6 months. He’s a threat at set pieces aswell. I’d have him starting ahead of one of our regulars put it that way.

Kevin Long has rarely let anyone down, it's more some willing him to fail so they can say 'I told you so'.

Tarky was definitely pointing to his shoulder before he went off so hopefully it isn't a cruciate injury :?

It would be a big worry if Tarks was out long term. Tarks along with Hart are our best players, to lose Tarks would be a major blow.
As others have said Long as been brilliant when he comes in, but Tarks is of different quality to both Long and Mee, he is so dominant, strong on the ball and a natural footballer

If it is a groin injury is it connected to the operation he had in the summer?

He did what he did last season i.e. twisted and hit the ball hard in one movement. Hopefully he went off as a precaution re his groin.

Pointing at his shoulder and the physio came to treat his shoulder but then were told it's his thigh. Have to wait to see I guess for the truth.

SD said groin and watching back his studs could have caught attempting to block the Murphy effort that hit the post. I’ll leave the diagnosis to the medical team.

Yesterdays game was a perfect one for Long.

I'd be happy enough for Long v Huddersfield but I wouldn't want Tarks out any longer than that.

It's Mee that needs to be watching his place. Been poor so far this season.

As we are unlikely to get much out of Man City and Chelsea, regardless of who plays, perhaps Tarkowski may be back for more important games, starting with West Ham after that.

How is it our center backs keep picking up injuries?! Starting to think there is something in it.

He played on for a while after he sustained it so that is a good sign, or so they say. Having said that many years ago Bert Trautman played a full game for City after breaking his neck early on. They built 'em tough then. ;)

I dont think they do for what its worth. But even if they did, the fact that they do most of our work, block so many shots and are key at both ends might explain it?

He scored the winner for the Hearts on Saturday ever present in the side Hearts unbeaten this season so far.

There's more chance of finding out what Putin had for breakfast in the Kremlin than the club providing accurate information to the supporters about injuries to our players.

We were extremely lucky with absence of injuries to Centre backs last season. We only had 3 in our squad and always had 2 available, and usually 3.

It was well into the second half ( around the 75th minute) when the incident believed to have caused the neck injury occurred.

Middle term maybe, but Burnley is a place where centre halves can shine.

I stand corrected. Ha ha. I wouldn't even want to walk around with a broken neck though let alone keep goal.

I think we could get a result against Chelsea with Tarks and Defour in the side
