Cheers now corrected, although perhaps Shankly would have approved ;)

Jeff Stelling just announced he has been taken to hospital in a serious condition. BT soccer programme, he was due to appear on, has been cancelled.

I think he talked a lot of sense when he was doing the co-commentating during the World Cup. Certainly too good for BT Sport, who for the majority get the the runt of the litter. Get well soon.

A wonderfully, talented, gifted player. Played the game in a different zone to many around him. Hope he gets well soon.

Was he already suffering heart problems as he didn’t look very over weight?

Last time I saw him on TV he looked very overweight. Very slim and graceful as a player. Had everything needed as a midfielder and a delight to watch. Main criticism.of him as I recall was that he 'didn't defend enough'. He didn't need to because there were other players that did that.

Look at the BT Sport pundit list and remove all those with an ego. He's the only bugger left!
Somebody who does his job well, can talk a lot of sense, but also put it across in the right way.

First chance I've had to post on this thread. One of the most gifted footballers of his generation and one that you always wanted to watch. Hope he recovers fully.

True gent, and cracking player, one of the best. Met him many times whilst on steward duty at my hometown club when he was manager there. Get well soon

On a recent programme on BBC, someone (I forget who) remarked that when he was England manager, he used to join in with the training sessions (5 -a-side, that sort of thing) and his touch, passing, vision was still better than that of many of the players! This led to some resentment within the camp apparently.

Shows how good a player he was. Get well soon Glenn!

I've nothing against Glen Hoddle but whatever happened to 'the show must go on' attitude?

Heddle was a great player and a good manager, and is a decent pundit, and like everyone I hope he recovers soon. However, to suggest he doesn’t have an ego is ludicrous.

It isn't. It's just different to your opinion.

Latest reports is that they thought he had died, but was saved by one of the staff for BT Sports.

Glenn Hoddle suffered heart attack and in 'serious condition' in hospital

Former England manager and Tottenham midfielder Glenn Hoddle remains in a "serious condition" in hospital after suffering a heart attack on Saturday.

Hoddle, who is "responding well to treatment", collapsed after appearing on BT Sport on his 61st birthday.
