Proud

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Wed Dec 05, 2018 9:42 pm

Despite all the doom and gloom. Despite the scoreline. Proud tonight. The fans backed Dyche. The players showed grit, fight and a bit of skill. Bardsley in particular showed excellent determination.

The scoreline flatters Liverpool. And for 75 minutes one of the best teams in europe were under pressure. But for a bit of luck we might have wom that. And they will walk off tonight knowing they were in a game.

Signs are promising for Saturday.

Keep the faith.

Even Dowie said on commentary that the score flattered Liverpool and they had to bring the big guns on to beat us

And that will be the real evidence that we’re trying to get a grip of this season. Play on Saturday with the same pressing and commitment, then perhaps we have turned a corner.

Tonight was a bit of a free hit, as long as we didn’t get hit for 6. Maybe the players felt less pressure and played with a bit more freedom.

I’m cautiously optimistic for Saturday, and hopefully, this is the start of a few green shoots of recovery.

We're still in big trouble but I have to say that I'm much happier today. Yes, we lost but there was at least effort and desire there. That's what I've wanted to see.

The five changes were needed. Would like to see more of Vydra though.

For the amount of criticism the team selection gets, I think it’s only fair to give it some due tonight. I’m not saying it was genius, just that it seemed to work well.

I will also need to see the proof in the pudding, but I’ll need to see more than this weekend to make me think we’ve turned the proverbial corner.

Saturday is a huge game but we should hopefully go in with some confidence after tonight’s performance if not the result.

Why don’t you just stfu and get behind the team? It’s cancerous toads like you that start divisions within the community. Dwell on the f*cking positives you div, not the negatives, that’s what being a supporter, not a detractor, is all about. FFS.
