The problem is Tony that those of us who were have an embarrassing array to choose from. I left out bit part players like Woodworth, Chippendale and a few others who plumbed the depths when it comes to being a professional footballer.ClaretTony wrote:For those of us who were around in the second half of the 1980s, the selected player has to come from that group. So many of them to choose from. For those who weren't around at that time, just be very thankful you didn't have to watch some of the garbage we had.

I'd never include a player in any list for good and bad who played one game like Woodworth, or very few like Chippendale. I think that's the only reason David Jones would escape the list to be honest.Herts Clarets wrote:The problem is Tony that those of us who were have an embarrassing array to choose from. Hard to judge the biggest donkey as I was too young to remember how poor most of the players were in Div 4 and the Div 2. Jon Flanagan takes some beating in recent times though.
The same flanagan that nearly won the premier league with Liverpool, finishing runners up. Making 23 appearances in one of the most exciting attacking teams in the premier league history scoring 101 goals ?

People naming current crop players as the “biggest donkey of all time” is on the same level as those people who called Graham Branch and Glenn Little our greatest living players. Comical stuff.
Can’t believe I’m actually having to side with the “look how far we’ve come” mob lol

Chris Wood scored 10 goals last season. I’d agree that he has been pretty appalling this season but considering the goals he scored last season, if he doesn’t score again for Burnley he was worth what we paid for him.Untinted Glasses wrote:As is Chris Wood
In every Jon Flanagan appearance for us he looked like he hadn’t played football before.

Perhaps looking at it like that, and I do agree flanagan was an absolute shockerRileybobs wrote:Chris Wood scored 10 goals last season.
