Aspinall playing great....players like Smith and mvg and anderson often get players who raise their game due to the pace of play....but surprised that aspinall has played just as well as this.....credit to smith though...he has hit some pressure doubles to stay with him...great game.

I wouldn't go that far. But it's still a decent game. Smith could be out of sight by now, so fair play to Aspinall for bringing it back.

its been a long time since I have seen so many games where one of the opponents just hasnt turned up....Andersons poor form tonight has allowed mvg to win too many sets 3-0 meaning that in a relatively short space of time mvg has got 5-0 up....dont get me wrong mvg is going to be a deserved winner but this should have been a 6-3 or 6-4 game with both running off a few legs on the trot and maybe 30 180s...just 16 so far.

I disagree. MVG was a lot better, however Anderson should have pulled another set back and made it 5-2. MVG the better player though overall fair and square and I think a 6-1/6-2 was about right.

Anderson is a 104/105 average man against mvg...thats what he does when playing a pacey player...tonights 98 was a big form dip...thats not an opinion its just a fact....not sure how you can disagree with that frank....in relative terms Anderson was poor tonight especially when he didnt have that many shots at double so that average flatters him....I really hope that Smith turns up in the final because you can see how much it means to him...... these games are starting to be a bit one sided.....fairly sure he will turn up but mvg was pretty special tonight.....if smith can only lose the sets 3-2 it will probably mean that mvg will have a form dip at some point and it could turn into a proper game....hope so because these 2 have been the best players this week.

. thought Anderson’s tournament average was 99 before the start of the game? He assumes that’s how Frank can disagree with happy.

I disagree because I watched the game. No offence hc17, but reading what you put, shouts out that you don't watch the matches. And you go completely off stats. Things you say, just don't make any sense, if we'd seen the same game.

What highlighted it was a 3-0 in a previous match. It played nothing like a 3-0, yet you questioned it.

MvG v Smith should be a superb game. Quick throwing and 180s galore. I expect MvG to win but Smith is improving and certainly could do it.

Bookies thinking a Smith win might happen, but unlikely. I agree. MVG has just looked too good throughout the whole tournament.

I'm no expert but I've watched a few of the games.

. expects MVG to win quite comfortably. He thinks if it goes all the way we might get to see a record set for most 180s in a game.

Jeremy, is there any chance MVG can get near Phil Taylor's number of World titles ?
Think Taylor has 14 titles and MVG 2 meaning he would need to dominate darts for the next 10 years and more.

. can’t see it. He thinks MVG would need 16 to equal Taylor. He doesn’t think MVG will play long enough to get near the record.

good effort from smith to only lose first set 3-2....mvg is only human and his form can dip just like anyone else so smith needs to dig his toes in.....Anderson led down and had his tummy tickled....once smith relaxes he might find those relentless 140s and 180s.

Smith not hitting his barney rubbles....and also not got his scoring in top form yet...a recipe for disaster against mvg....mvg also not in top gear yet....still time for this to catch fire.

such a shame smith hasnt scored or doubled....been the nature of this years championship with so many players just not turning up with their best darts....mvg only playing his c game and is 4-0 up.
