The local council have just announced new speed limits and safety cameras on the stretch of road the accident occurred on. Been an accident hotspot for years but it’s taken them less than 24 hours to make changes when a royal has been involved. Now that I do find distasteful!

It was on the agenda for that Council meeting published 10 days ago ..... pure coincidence, as it happens !

The issue is that you are far more likely to have a heart attack, for example, at the wheel if you are 97 than if you are 18.

The same is for many other health issues, such as eye sight, hearing etc.

The problem at the moment is that many older people will not inform the DVLA straight away if they have any health problems and may feel they are ok when they clearly aren't.

But Phil has had his heart problem dealt with having had a stent inserted into one of his coronaries to open it up thus reducing his risks of another heart attack

I very much doubt it nor are we likely to see a prosecution for driving without due care and attention.

It'll soon be the fault of the driver of the other vehicle.

Now I think he should have his licence revoked, being 97 is not a reason to revoke his licence - being irresponsible is though

Just read that one of the women involved has got a broken wrist, so not quite the minor injuries the press were reporting!

She is also complaining about the lack of an apology from the Duke. To be fair though, his insurance company wouldn’t be too pleased if he did issue an apology as it would be an admission of guilt, possibly leading to prosecution.
