Re: Dog ban
Need to triple the license and enforce it propely or the dog gets put down. The revenue could go to “ dog only” ( or at least dog friendly ) zones where they can go and sh1t all day and not have to lay their mess on footy pitches local parks etc . Dogs can be fantastic pets but they sh1t a hell of a lot and that’s totally the responsibility of the owner . The sad thing is that it’s not just a small minority . I recently had a an altercation with 2 fat tattooed women while footy training with lad , their dog ( German Shephard type) lays a huge cable on a clearly marked junior pitch to our right . I shouts at her to clean it up and her and her mate start effing and jeffing and came over and the bigger of the two actually offered to fight me
saying she’d “ die for her dog” or some such drivel ! I politely declined not out of chivalry but more that she looked liked she could go in the Tyson Fury

Re: Dog ban
There was an enormous kerfuffle years ago when Burnley Council banned dogs from parks and I think aggrieved parties went to Westminster over it and the House of Lords were involved. Think the wrangle went on several years and as I understand matters a local non-dog owning councillor even borrowed a canine friend for one such protest in ?London
No idea if the ban was eventually deemed illegal or not. My recollections of returning to Burnley regularly in the 1970's with my young children, to see their grandparents and my parents, were that the streets of Burnley were not paved with gold but with dogs**t!!!!

There is no dog license in the UK.It was abolished in the 1980's you are required to have them chipped.AlargeClaret wrote:Need to triple the license and enforce it propely or the dog gets put down. Most dog owners do act responsibly. I think the clue to your unfortunate experience is "tattooed women " any woman with a tattoo should
be automatically put to sleep.

Re: Dog ban
Well this has been an interesting topic. What no-one seems to have pointed out (forgive me if they have as some of the nonsense on this thread caused my my eyes glaze over at times) is that there is no such thing as a bad dog only bad owners. Dogs are fun and great companions but are only as good as the person they live with. When I go out with our Staffy I occasionally get people walking to one side as though I've got a lion on the lead but the fact is unless they are trained otherwise (by d!ckheads who want to look hard) they are actually the most placid dog around. They have no natural violence in them and the The Kennel Club have them as only one of two breeds that are safe with children and if he gets picked on by another dog he just turns his head and brushes it aside. He loves a play fight but has never hurt anyone or anything. Looks are misleading. My grandkids love him and ride on his back.
As far as the OP is concerned I think someone is winding people up because the RSPCA would have something to say if you didn't take your dog out as it is cruel. A few years ago in Rome it became an offence to own a dog and not walk it regularly.
By the way he sh!ts loads but I always pick it up.

I would have said something but for the sheer size and brainlessness of the big dopy thing. Owner that is not the rottweiler.

Re: Dog ban
I've got two Spaniels. I have no problem picking up after them. If you can't clean up after your dogs you shouldn't have them simple as that.
Think if it like this. It's like changing a baby's nappy. It's not a problem when it's your baby. Same when it's your dog. It's your dog your mess. Clean it up!

Re: Dog ban
No issue with dogs or their owners if they clear up after themselves. Also, no dogs on pitches - that is dangerous to human health.

No dogs on parks where children play. Parks aren't dog toilets.

Unfortunately I have always been in a position where I have worked to live and always will be.
Staffs are very chavvy dogs by the way.

Incidentally the Kennel Club say of the Staffy 'Despite its early function (as a fighting dog), the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is known as a wonderful family pet'. The only 'chavvy' perception comes about because of the very small minority of idiots who think they are macho in some way. They are indeed very powerful and brave animals but they have no natural inclination towards violence at all. In fact if anyone in our house starts to play fight Charlie will join in but if he thinks it gets too serious he will actually try to stop it by pushing people apart or even gently, with no force at all, grab the arm of the 'aggressor' and pull them away. He is a lovely soul who has never harmed or in any way hurt anyone or any animal, he even plays with the cat and they sleep together. They are now, according to the Kennel club, one of the most popular dog breeds in the country and cause far less injury to humans than Labradors.
There you go bud - the Staffy - a wonderful animal.

While we are at it lets ban all wildlife from public areas. Or do they not **** everywhere!! Dog owners in general are very protective of these sort of areas and I dread to think where we would be without them.

Re: Dog ban
Iran's capital city has banned the public from walking pet dogs as part of a long-standing official campaign to discourage dog-ownership. Driving with a dog in your car has also been banned. Police authorities say the ban is because of dogs "creating fear and anxiety" among members of the public.

Parvo also sounds like a lager. I bet it would taste like a dog's arse. Not that I've ever tasted one, I hastily add.Bfcboyo wrote:Corona mmmmm nice.
