Out of the cup at least we can focus on the riches the premier league bring us

makes sense to me, nothing more than a short term stop gap to ensure we have cover for someone who is going for £9m who has fallen out of favour and IMO isnt good enough for the EPL.

I'd be waiting till 11pm before getting too carried away to be honest.

But Vokes out, Crouch in and Adams in but loaned back is planning ahead and not bad business.

But Vokes out without a replacement is bad, and Crouch is better than nothing, but not much better!

Adams in would be good, Adams in and loaned back isn't brilliant but acceptable.

And whilst season tickets are frozen ( again ) which benefits everyone, it must be a successful model.

Since they cancelled the AGMs the board can get away with anything they want without fans having a say.

I'm not saying they have done anything major wrong but fans should still have their say.

Planning ahead when you’re 7th and safe in January. 2018 is fine.

Shipping out a good player for a has been clown whilst in a relegation battle is stupid. Pointless. Laughable to quite honest.

A team that was playing shockingly at the time and has now improved immeasurably. People should bang on and on and on about cup games until Dyche maybe gets the message.

If you think that Peter Crouch was a clown at his peak, then you really haven't been paying attention.

Planning ahead is always a good thing, whether in a relegation battle or not. Vokes and Crouch are both only short term solutions.

It’s a little known fact we all pay our money to turn up every week just to marvel at how Burnley made a healthy profit this year.

Football is just a side issue. Buzzing for Garlick to come out of his cave in March and gleefully announce a £25m profit (less than the actual figure of course for tax purposes). That’ll more than make up for his failures in the past two transfer windows.

It's not as if we're losing a lot of pace if Vokes leaves. And it's not as if the club has a poor record in transfer windows anyway - we've been outstanding for years. That's why we're in the Premier League.

Again, until we get an injury to Barnes or Wood and our back up is a player Dyche is yet to show he rates and one that hasn’t completed 90 mins in a league game for quite some time.

Not in the least - my critisism is of 'fans' who seem to get off on how much money we've made. I don't really don't care how much money we've made, we are more than solvent. The idea is to make money to invest to make it more enjoyable for the fans and that, in the main, should be investment on the pitch. I don't care about comfy seats (I'd rather stand actually), I'm not bothered about nice toilets with air fresheners, I don't care about fancy training facilities because I don't use them. I have always attended games because I support Burnley football club as a football team, whether in the PL or in the old division 4, it's my club and always will be, the money side is of no concern to me at all, really. I don't get off on thinking we have 200m in the bank, if it doesn't improve the team I am not interested.

No but we’re losing a player who’s been here since 2012. Knows what’s required. Knows what we’re about. Crouchy will only be keeping Walters company in the “good around the dressing room” department.

It seems odd that a club which continually has disastrous transfer windows, or so we are told, is doing so well. There are only two reasonable conclusions that I can come to:

1 - transfer windows don't make much difference to the success of the club.
2 - the windows haven't been so disastrous after all.

Either way, it's hardly worth getting so worked up about.

I know people object to the Orient game being mentioned, but honestly, after 30+ years of watching Burnley FC, I find it hard to get worked up over how badly it is alleged we are doing.

I think the more pertinent example here is the injury to Marney.

I know we are still in for Adams, but this potentially leaves us with two good strikers, one who needs time, and one who can't play 90 minutes.

I think that is what people are worried about here.

Houseboy....you know all too well that all Burnley fans are interested first and foremost as to what happens on the pitch.
But surely you also realise that the "balance sheet" is key to determining what players we put out onto that very same pitch.

Nobody is "getting off" at the amount we have in the Bank....they might be getting off at the fact that we about £150m worth of players on the pitch. Or maybe that we are able to afford a wage bill of £75m a year...or that we can afford to bring players to the club and pay them £50k a week or at the great pitch we have, great training facilities, improving ground, etc etc.

None of this happens without our strong financial position.

But yes most of us still want us to have a good transfer deadline day....and Vokes out and Crouch in is very clearly not a good outcome. Lets hope we can get the Evans deal through.

I am a football fan, just Burnley really though.
Always want them to win whether I'm there or not.

Why what business am I supporting and how.

What's Barclays got to do with anything?

Like I've mentioned a thousand and one times, I don't agree with the people who make the decisions, and/or the decisions they make.
Doesn't mean I support Burnley less, just means my opinions on some people and the way certain things are done are very low

But as long a season tickets are frozen again, ( which benefits every fan by the way ) everything else is accepted, and all's well.

We are doing well despite our recruitment not because of it.

Our starting 11 is still the same as it was 12 months ago despite Europe/7th place and an extra 150 million in the bank. Its indefensible.

You have all failed to mention that 25% of the fee above £350,000 for Sam Vokes has to be paid to Wolves because of the sell on clause when he signed for us ---I don't want anyone thinking that we made more than we did.

Thinking we are doing well and thinking we can do better in the transfer windows are not mutually exclusive.

We had an excellent season last year, by no means do I expect that to become the norm but I do feel we’ve missed an opportunity over the past three windows since we all but secured our status to improve ourselves as a club and give us a better hope of staying here for longer.

Just take part of my post. I said over the last few seasons. In general its been okay. Been dreadful recently. We are doing well due to a fantastic manager and work ethic. Over the last two seasons only Wood has improved our first eleven. With the money that has come into the club that is not good enough IMO. Should be trying to progress not regress.

I would say two years ago is within the last two seasons. And there's no rule that says new signings must be instant successes or they are no success at all.
