Shocker. Didn't stop play for Bardsley head injury. Was woolly with the advantage rule and free kick placement.
Normally one of the better refs but had an off day.
Not at fault for our defeat.

Bit of a homer, but overall not that bad. Can't blame him for the result.

Awful a complete home blower who ignored a string of fouls by Liverpool.Leaping over opponents shirt pulling and tripping all got ignored
Disgraceful not stopping for Phils head injury.
Missed the handball from Salah as he "controlled " the ball and Salahs offside for goal four

I have to agree with Woodley ignored numerous fouls which would have been given if it was the other way round, poor performance from the ref.

Homer. Did his job well....priority to Top teams, especially Liverpool. Important to keep the title to the wire. Bonus - Burnley in the mire....Prem don't want the likes of us.

Yes, should have stopped the game for the Bardsley injury but other than that, absolutely no problems with him today although apparently our first goal should have been ruled out.

A - 19 because while I'm glad he gave our goal, it was a foul really.
B - 25
C - 23
D - 25 but an easy game to control, mostly. Booking the keeper early on probably helped.

Marriner, by and large, is the best referee in the league because he isn't stupid enough to believe that every tap on the shoulder is a foul, and even more, because he isn't stupid enough to believe that a tap on the shoulder of a player who flings himself down is different from a tap on the shoulder of a player who doesn't. Most games, there are quite a lot of free kicks given for no reason than the player asks for it and the ref likes to be generous. With Marriner, he tends to give free kicks only for fouls.
