Looks like there's something afoot. All opposition leaders called to a Downing Street meeting with the PM at 6pm and rumours of a statement by the PM later this evening.

Donald Tusk statement confirms that the extension will only be granted if the WA is voted through next week. As I said earlier this pretty much guarantees that it won't as the ERG will see no deal as back on the table.

If leave won the “first Informed referendum” that result should be excepted and we leave the EU. But it must be remembered by Brexiteers that they will be responsible for any/all that goes wrong because of “their” vote.

I suspect Labour support may be dependent on putting to a referendum and therefore a longer extension. But now May is dependant on the opposition digging her out of the pit she's created and it leaves them in an impossible position.

the electorate is broadly for Leave I think that's debatable. I think most are of the opinion that remain would win a second referendum (I can't see any other reason why Leave are so terrified of the suggestion of one) and the trends in the opnion polls agree but whether that would translate into the electorate being pro-remain during a general election I'm not so sure.

Added to that are the party politics of leave voters who'd never vote tory and the comparison of constituencies to a global picture and I think it would be tough to call.

I don't think Labour would do enough on their own but some multi-party coalition (including some Tories in remain constituencies, there are half a dozen or so where the remain vote was over 70% and the candidates may end up going against national policy) could still scupper the tories (and the current form of Brexit). I suspect Labour wouldn't come out and campaign on a second referendum but could be pushed into it by other parties if they ended up in some coalition.

I think Manchester City would beat Swansea if they replayed their Cup 6th round tie. But I bet they wouldn't agree to replay it. Leave voters feel that once they have won, they have won - changing it to "best of three" after the event is disapproved of.

By "are terrified of", do you mean "are opposed to"? I haven't seen any signs of terror.

Given the serious concerns by most MPs across the HoC relating to No Deal then there is no option other than to back May's deal.
Will we finally see MPs doing what they were elected to do irrespective of party politics?

The last thing May wants is for her and her party to be blamed for staying in the EU so by a form of stealth she is dragging this Brexit nonsense out.

Remember May is well known for not wanting to leave the EU despite what she has been saying for 3 years.

When we finally decide to stay in she can claim (and rightly so) that she did all she could to get us out but parliament continually voted against.

Well that’s the only way I can make sense of her actions over this last 3 years.

If they vote for May's deal, the end is certainly not in sight. If we vote for May's deal, then we have to keep on negotiating until we get a revised agreement that the EU is happy with so they will let us go. If we get no deal, THEN the end is in sight.

We will have made a decision and can get on with the rest of our lives. A vote for May's deal would be to continue the farrago of the last couple of years, but without a deadline.

Easy enough to google the answer, but this is not necessarily relevant since it doesn't necessarily follow that the majority of Labour voters in a Labour constituency voted to leave.
A large percentage of the leave voters ina Labour constituency could be from Tory and UKip. Add a good proportion of Labour leavers and there you have it.

99% of Brexit threads (disclaimer, I dont know if that is the exact, correct percentage, and have no way of proving if so. I was using hyperbole like many others) have been deleted. I dont think theres any way of pulling up old comments on this subject, other than the watered down ones on this thread (post it being highlighted that it makes the poster look a bit mental)
