I think our away support is fantastic (arguably one of the best).

However I don’t think he’s far off in relation to our home atmosphere. The only team I think is worst is Bournemouth. Worst atmosphere I’ve ever seen.
It would also help if half of the time we don’t sing about them lot down the road. Even the new Koleosho song references them. It’s weird.

I think Vegas Claret has spent a bit too much time over in America.
I'm sure he has given his comment on Arsenal

He obviously attends virtually no matches in the premier league and doesn’t realise the tv companies amplify the crowd noises to create more of an atmosphere for the viewers.

And when were you there to sample this atmosphere? And which other grounds have you been to for comparison?

I'm well aware, funnily enough I also have my eyes. Palace and Arsenal have their two groups. Deny it all you want

The Arsenal spurs game this season had one of the best atmospheres I’ve seen in ages.

That is one of two games this season where atmospheres have impressed me.

The other newcastle Vs PSG where the bar I was in watching the game was literally shaking

seriously ? Spend 5 mins and see what opposition fans are saying about the Emirates this season. They've got groups of fans meeting up before the game and walking to the ground just like all he European clubs do and it carries into the ground. It's undeniable yet folks are trying

Classic tv game watcher. Sees a few images of kids smiling and walking to the ground on Sky Sports and decides that’s what makes a good atmosphere at the ‘soccer’ 😆

To be fair, I’ve seen a few reports this / last season commenting on how good the atmosphere is at the Emirates, now.

Historically, it has been rubbish there, but it sounds as though things have improved a lot.

I asked one member of the FAB and she said they had just heard about this in an email this morning, so it doesnt sound like its been discussed previously with them.

Its the worst idea since that Free Nathan Tella video.

exactly this. Their supporters got together and got organized BECAUSE they undoubtedly had one of the worst atmosphere's in the league. It was a problem and they fixed it mostly themselves (I believe the club helped with funding of flags etc). We clearly haven't done that despite people calling for the scenes under the Culvert to be recreated before home games.

That's hilarious, utterly predictable and smacks of exactly the issue the club faces. Backwards inward thinking

The Premier League is a world wide brand, it is becoming more and more Americanized every season. It's a get on board situation regardless if we like it or feel comfortable with it.

I agree it used to be bad..... But they've adopted the palace system where they let a group of the noisiest fans stand together every game.... At arsenal it's the right hand side of the goal at the same end as the away fans are. . I think you'll notice the difference this season

So you haven't been, it's heresay. I've been to the Emirates nine times to see Burnley, sadly missing the one win because of COVID, and it has always been as flat as a flute.

Probably one of the best atmosphere's we witnessed in our last Premier League season was at Brentford.

you aren't reading what I put, i'm talking about THIS season. They had one of the worst, undeniable. It's not now because the fans and the club got together. Yes Brentford are good - like Spurs this season, clever picking of music before the game, at half time and after the game plays a part. Arsenal also introduced a fan written song that they play before every game, their version of 'You'll never walk alone' if you like and it's made a massive difference.

Pretty grim you think because I (or anyone) am not at a game my comments are invalid

It works in America, it often works in europe.

In the uk grounds it makes me cringe so hard that i might become of interest to CERN

Improving the atmosphere is straight forward - simply a matter of moving the pitch a little and re-housing the away support. Plus locking up anyone seen in the vicinity of Turf Moor on match day carrying a drum

Only if it’s decent like - I remember that ‘Burnley Football Club’ song someone wrote thinking they were John Lennon and it was f***ing dreadful.

We do desperately need some new chants like, no doubt about that - uplifting chants that are about the team and not how much we hate Blackburn or love women’s genitalia and preferably not at 240 BPM

I attended football matches for over 30 years. I'm aware, but I'm also aware of the Premier League noise over here and I would imagine that is replicated in other countries too. I'm aware the sound engineers turn mics up and down when songs have swear words in them, it's been going on for decades (on a different note I would think AI technology should help them massively with that)

The atmosphere at Burnley is bad because we keep losing badly. The atmosphere at Arsenal has been better than ever starting from last season when they started winning a lot. Like pretty much every club in England, our home fans will only generate a good atmosphere if the team inspires it.

Hiring a drummer isn't going to change that, it's just going to be quite annoying.

Isn't it weird how we weren't having these conversations last season when were winning regularly? And the atmosphere was ace. Lots of nonsense on this thread, not least from Vegas, who really needs to visit a few PL grounds and compare/contrast. It's difficult to get things going not only when we're losing regularly, but in the manner we've been losing. I don't even think the atmosphere has been that bad considering what we've watched. It's the usual fare served up though when we have a bad run, it's just unfortunate that the club have started to big brain it now too.

We badly need a club song or songs. I watch SC Freiburg on occasions. ALL THE SUPPORTERS sing their two club songs before every game and the atmosphere is tremendous for 90+ minutes, win or lose. The same can be said for all German Stadia. I used to dislike 'I'm Gonna Be' but I think there is a place for it now before the start of our home games (or a similar song or piece of classical music which creates an atmosphere)

Some College teams bring it, LSU, Texas A&M, Penn State etc - especially to start the game and when the away team is on 3rd down

I watched a BIG 12 Conference game in Austin - Texas Longhorns vs Kansas Jayhawks - 95,202 people in attendance and you could hear a pin drop.

Conversely been to a Titans game and it was the same - incidentally the best American Football atmosphere was the Chiefs vs Lions at... Wembley.

Desperately need new chants and to get stuck in/not be **** and we'll be fine.

But the rest of the ground has to make an effort - there's like the Cricket field and a few blocks of the Longside that attempt anything.

I don't think it was particulaly great at home last season.

Some games got decent of course but we haven't had a regular top atmosphere in ages.

Nothing has compared to the Leauge Cup run and United win at home under horse face, sadly.

You are the one embarrassing yourself commenting on atmospheres at places you have never been to because you heard it on the Sky cameras 😆

Get yourself a megaphone and shout through that how good you think Americanising the games over here will be but you’ll still get very few agree with you 😆😆🥁 📢
I don't want a drum, I'd rather they give out a scarf like they did against Cardiff - the atmosphere that day was incredible.
I don't want the sport to be Americanized but sure as **** it is happening..........and you still don't come up with a single constructive comment or alternative for the atmosphere issues at the Turf - unless of course those that go to the games who say the atmosphere is crap are also making it up ?

What place have I never been to ? The Turf ?

Ah ok, so unless you are there you can't have a view on something. So you don't have a view on anything in the news then, nothing on what's going on in the world just because you aren't there ? :? Absolute drivel
Drivel? Sorry but you are being ridiculous. Can you please explain to me how you can possibly know what the atmosphere is like in a ground when you are not there?

that's why the scarf is a better idea than a drum, it includes everyone in the ground. I get why they are going to trial a drum but I don't think it's the right thing - but they have to try something because the fans aren't taking it upon themselves to do anything.

Haven't read all the thread but has this proposal been discussed at the Fans Advisory Board (or whatever it's called)?

I've spoken with them a few times, given suggestions and ideas and I often get back "we will put it forward" or "I'm not sure the police will allow it". It does seem a little negative

Arsenals atmosphere is much improved and is one of the best in the league now.

No idea why people have piled on Vegas for his correct observation.

Nail on head, exactly.

Where were the calls for a drummer or the like last season? We didn't need it because we were winning every week. If Arsenal were getting bent over each week at home whatever they are doing at the Emirates would be a wet fart in the wind as well.

There is only one cure for the atmosphere - results - and it has ever been thus at Turf Moor going back the entire 31 years I have been going on. It would be great if the fans were able to be loud, resilient to the poor performances and goals flying in against us and somehow turn the tide through sheer noise and intimidation but the reality is that has never been the case at Burnley. We have always been a fab set of fans away from home but largely fair weather in terms of noise at Turf Moor....in my opinion.

Because he's based it on heresay having not witnessed it. It's always been flat previously, really flat, not called the library for nothing. We are there in a few weeks so we can see what it's like then.
