I think he got all 4 against Norwich, Ted MacDougal got 3 for them , I think.
He didn't get them in that Charlton match.

We'd positioned ourselves behind the goal on the Beehole, for a quick exit at 1-4. What a last 10mins.

This 2nd half will live long in the memory as well. It was game over at half-time, We'd been awful up till then.

I feel sorry to ask this as he's been a great servant over the year's.

But what does Ashley offer? He doesn't fit in this current system, and I doubt he would even be much effective in the old system as he seems to have deteriorated alot in the last year.

I love Barnes for his service and good times, but football is fickle and keeps moving forward. Alot of the times this season when he's been on the pitch he looks like a passenger, not all down to himself.. I genuinely don't think this system suits him.

Not sure Barnes in the same situation would have made the THB knock back, HIS ball.With Costelloe getting a hatrick recently he may have been a better starting option. The more Barnes features, sadly the more slating he will get and we dont want to remember him from these appearances. The game has moved on too much for him

There are some on here though who still don't see how bad he's become. Only on this very thread we've had one poster saying he should be partnered up front with Jay and another who thinks he would still offer more than Costelloe!

Barnes in his prime wasn't about being in the air.
He roughed people up, broke up play and got the opposition frustrated.

Give him a decent partner (back in his prime) and he created space for them by being a nuisance and peeing off opposition defenders. I'd say he was better at opening space for others than good in the air.

Yes, I can't remember who against but I'm fairly sure it was a far post header from a Charlie Taylor cross.

For the 2nd he let a shot in from 10 yards that was very close to him.

He just hasn't got any goalkeeper instincts in him.

Watch the first goal back, the lad sent him the eyes, he looked left but then shot right it was very clever, it was almost a penalty nothing he could of done.

2nd goal you try and stop something that's almost at your feet with a split second to get down or move your foot this is much harder than having to dive, honestly some people are clueless

The 2nd goal, Pope let one of them in trying to get down with his big frame. So then he practised very hard on making saves with his feet like De gea. It worked wonders for him. Let's hope Muric does the same.

It's not just my opinion, this below was taken off a Web site and there is loads more and videos on it to.

When a player is one on one with the goalkeeper – he or she only has the keeper to beat – sometimes the player will look one way but shoot the other way. This means that he is pretending to shoot in one direction but actually goes a different way – he or she gives the goalkeeper the eyes.

For example,Liverpool striker Firmino has scored many ‘no-look goals’. To give the keeper the eyes is similar in that the forward will look one way and then fool the keeper by placing the ball in a different part of the goal. To give the keeper the eyes.

Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich scored at the near post against Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas – he gave the keeper the eyes to beat him at his near post.

Barnes' first ever goal for us was a header at The Valley..good cross from Junior Stanislas and set us on our way to a 3-0 win in the first Dyche promotion season.
